Greek days are numbered. It is the last bastion of segregation being OK from a university sponsored standpoint. PC police will have a nail in their coffin before you know it.

The video was OK, but Alabama should NEVER have apologized for it. This is not about Alabama, it is about everything having to be PC.

Alabama's official statement is nonsensical:
"This video is not reflective of UA's expectations for student organizations to be responsible digital citizens. It is important for student organizations to remember what is posted on social media makes a difference, today and tomorrow, on how they are viewed and perceived," said Deborah Lane, Associate Vice President for University Relations.

Have to agree with Clay Travis on this one:
the only reason this video is popular is because the girls are really hot and they featured a football player in it. If the girls were less attractive and Kenyan Drake wasn't in it it wouldn't have gone viral. That's because there are tons of these sorority videos all over the Internet. All these girls did was make a video that was creative enough to stand out from the rest of the videos just like it. That's called being smart.

I don't think they will be banned. This is just someone trying to stir up something from nothing. The vast majority, white and black, don't see anything wrong with the video.

Alabama has the largest Greek organization in the country. Oddly enough the University has urged the sororities to increase their quota in the hopes that next year they will have 3,000 rushee's participate in formal recruitment. They added 2 more sororities this year.

The internet is nothing but faux outrage and clickbait.

In 3 days nobody will remember this video and everyone will be talking about the next phony controversial topic everyone is "outraged" about.

The University "apologizing" for this is absolutely insane. The world needs to start pushing back against all this fake internet outrage and tell it to go frick itself.

Oh no I wasn't meaning this sorority would be banned for this video. Just making a statement in regards to frats and sororities in general. They are in stark contrast to what is being pushed today politically and I can see them having to change from what everyone has always known them to be. They will still be around but there will be changes if they are to remain recognized by the universities. No way around what is coming down the tracks.

Thanks for the link.

Killz is right. we shouldn't have to go through 3 pages of a sorority video thread to find a link. I get the Georgia tech gay jokes now.

So do they implement a quota for minority membership?

But maybe the sorority needs to be shut down and maybe the members of that sorority should be removed from the school.

These white women were flaunting their whiteness and privilege in the faces of those who don't have privilege and who aren't white.

This whole video was very, very hateful to Africans and any other minority that is just struggling to survive at the school and get an education.

These rich white girls have the very best of clothing, of vehicles, of health-care, of social lives, etc... and many of the minorities at Alabama don't have this.

Just about all minorities at Alabama are very, very poor and don't have good clothes to wear and look pitiful and don't have many friends and are taunted and harassed by white racists all day long, every day.

So for them to make this video is tantamount, almost, to the Klan making a video preaching about white power.

They should not be proud of being white or being from rich families. They should feel ashamed for who they are and try to help others who are less fortunate than they are instead of treating Africans and other minorities like they don't matter.

Exactly. Like I said earlier it is not only a great recruiting tool for them, but as well as for the university. Trust me. I'm in a few circles with former players and they all said the same thing, "shite! I wish I were still playing" and they were on the 09 team.

How many minorties were cut from UA's sororities this year? NONE

The African-American sororities choose not to participate in the formal recruitment at Alabama. It's their choice.

I don't think so. There was an uproar because a black girl, highly qualified albeit, was shunned by all white sororities on campus. She was highly connected at the university so it didn't go over well. Then the very next year (last year) some chick posted a stupid pic on snap chat saying that her sorority didn't get no N*****. There was a debate on the legitimacy of it though. She got booted from the university.

They already have, although it was a low number it is a start. Know some folks that just went through.. Basically every Sorority was to pledge at LEAST 1. Still a very low percentage as each sorority had 150 in the pledge class.

Alabama also for the first time did NOT publish which girls went to which sorority.

NOTE: This will spread to other campuses soon.

There's some shite stirred up every year regarding the UA sororities. Every minority received a bid this year. So now the haters try to trash the Alpha Phi's for this video because it was "racially-homogenous"......

Over 2,500 girls went thru Rush at UA - how many minortities participated? I'd venture to say 1% went through the week long event.
