all fanbases have fickle and/or retarded fans.

Yeah, that's the problem. A November without UGA/AU isn't a real football season.

For most SEC teams getting to a Final Four is a start (baby steps in basketball)

If you go by winning percentages, then the first 4 of this said Big 10 would be:

1) LSU
2) UF
3) AU
4) AL

For UK fans, Runner Up and Final Fours are failure. Have to go all the way back to 2012 for UK success.

Let me know when Mizzou gets to the Final Four the first time before bringing that weak sauce.

That is only for the benefit of two fan bases, imagine that if AU and UGA played each other on a national stage for the Championship. Everybody in the country would watch that. It would benefit the conference as a whole much more to have such Rivalry games on a bigger stage

One solution I liked was play your rival every other year. At least this way you have a chance every other year to watch two true rivals collide in the SEC game

Not really. I'd feel the same way about a season with no LSU/bama, UF/UT, Auburn/bama, auburn/lsu, ole miss/msu, etc. Those games ARE the sec. Wouldn't feel right without em.

i really am not against the permanent opponents at all but the "its tradition" line is complete BS. The conference shite all over LSU's traditions and we bent over and took it. If enough people wanted it so would yall.

I can see where keeping traditions would be a good argument for keeping it the way it is, but it just seems like it will eventually change wether we want it to or not. Money and the SECN might have a big impact

what really sucks is we will play in athens once every 12 years.

12 YEARS! That just shows the scheduling is messed up. maybe a 9 game schedule is the answer if you want to keep permanent opponents (which im perfectly fine with).
