there is no way in hell the SEC should accept the craptastic level of programming that was this offseason on the SECNetwork, no way no how.

4 hours of finebum trolling idiot gumps on the phone is simply not acceptable for what the SEC should want in a network. A few minutes of Maria Taylor and Greg McElroy(yea fine it works) followed by 55 minutes of finebum poking fun at the worst trailertrash in gumpland is not what we(the SEC) are paying for here and not what we should accept.

Never mind the assplug leftards at Dizney running the shitshow are wound up pc idiots, noting they just fired Cowherd for going unfiltered offscript and being "controversial" on his final day. Ok I'm no Cowherd apologist I don't really even like the guy much but I despise the two face hypocrisy of these idiots acting butthurt over a remark about "dominicans in baseball" when they have no problem parading the lamest of the white trailer trash in the SEC on tv for hours at a time.

Specifically it's time for this fat shitshow that is a bevo to be cut loose once and for all. That sow should have no say on what happens on the SECN, hell the idiot is responsible for the craptastic LHN deal and should be fired for that alone!

Time for the SEC front office to get serious about the quality of what represents the conference on the air waves and put an end to the sorry arse garbage that fills much of the space on SECN.

I thought for sure last year they would cut down on Finebaum once the season started.

A year later and we still have four fricking hours a day of Finebaum.

Certain callers on Finebaum are part of what makes cfb so special.

to be clear there are SOME good things, the afore mentioned Maria Taylor is great find, but find another girl like that to split time with(think FOX news), I would recommend my girl, Ashley but I don't want you creeps staring at her..

Boogar, McElroy, Noka and the like do a fair job, but there is no way finebum should have more than an hour of airtime and much of that should be doing serious interviews, coaches, athletes and the like, not dragging dollar bills through Mississippi trailer parks..

the program design simply isn't up to snuff for the SEC and there is no way the SEC should accept it going forward this way.

Good programming costs money... that's why TV is littered with all the shitty reality shows.

Your only hope to get Finebaum off the air for four hours is if he touched his sleeping sister or he starts dating a child molester.

I think there's a real opportunity missed with the programming. Could've been a great station for the celebration of SEC culture.

ESPN is being forced by Disney to cut costs. It would still be cheaper to just replay old games. More people would watch too.

it still can, if we, the SEC fans and more importantly, the SEC conference office get serious about it and cut out the "oh gee whatever you do is fine" attitude we seem to have.

I can't decide if Tammy of Finebaum or Timmay of South Park would be a better speech therapist..

ESPN was told by Disney to cut$100,000,000. This year.

And $250,000,000 next year.

ESPN will no longer be what we came to know and love.
It will be a shell...

Yes, the SEC does not have enough money to put on quality programming and turn a solid profit that would give payouts to all schools.

How much does finebaum cost for 4 hours?

How much does an actual program cost?

A really bad reality show costs about $100,000 for half hour on TV.

A really bad scripted show costs about $750k for a half hour on TV.

Finebaum's production costs are probably considerably lower than that of even bad reality shows.

20 HOURS of programming a week, assuming finebaum costs 1/4 of what an extremely cheap shitty reality TV costs amounts to $1m weekly, just for Finebaum.

Now replace that with higher production value more expensive shows and you can see where it would devastate margins.

Yes, it's cheap programming. That doesn't help matters if no one is watching. ESPN is being forced to cut costs because their model is dying.

It works great if your model is primarily subscription fee based rather than on ad revenue.

99% of the viewers of the SEC network don't give 2 shits about any of the programming on that channel except for the games. You get the games so people HAVE to have that channel and pay the sub revenue, then you use fillers for the rest of the space.

They aren't going to be able to create shows that drive viewership for the SECN when they're having enough problems doing that for ESPN.

The old television model is dying. The internet and on demand is just a better way to distribute most material.

Live sporting events is one of the major draws that cable and satellite still has.

How long would anybody here keep a cable or satellite subscription if you could get all an NFL, MLB, NBA or NCAA package with ALL the games streaming.

They are a company which came up as their own boss. And as such they called the shots.
They sold out to Disney and lost the right to chose.
Now they will have their throat cut .
