All they would need to do is make an exemption for football and it would be fine since you will never have women's football and making up those 85 scholarships is a killer.
no way cant do that it makes too much sense.

Put a PA kid on ugas or floridas campus with an olympic wrestler as a coach i think it could be successful
I have no doubt if a kid from PA came to wrestle down south he would dominate. I have a friend who lost only 1 match his entire high school career here in Georgia and even he had trouble against northern competition in tournaments and practice matches.

Soccer and Hockey say get in line. I'd prefer both over having lacrosse.

Im sure in high school that would be the case, but in college it would be level competition

there is no D1 teams in the SEC. to be D1, you have to be governed by the NCAA
Hence the technicality
The SELC does have a "Division I" and "Division II" but they obviously do not compare to the level of competition against NCAA DI.
ETA: I should've mentioned that most (if not all) of the SEC schools that have a lacrosse "club" participate in the SELC.

frick THAT.
Mens Soccer should be WAYYY ahead of Lacrosse in the pecking order.
Most popular sport in the world and the SEC doesn't even field teams.

I think Title IX has outlived it's usefullness. Women's sports are established now, all it does is hurt minor men's sports.
Are you suggesting that since women's sports are established, a repeal of Title IX would permit the addition of men's "minor" sports without any reduction in the number of women's teams?

Definitely Men's Soccer. Louisiana has 3 players that have won the "Soccer Heisman" in the last 10 years.

Hell no. I want Men's Soccer before anything else gets added.

bishes love lacrosse dudes too
and I didn't realize there's somewhat of an antagonistic relationship between baseball players and lacrosse players (similar to football vs soccer IMO)

Because it loses money and title 9

It won't forever. Soccer is rapidly gaining popularity internationally. It would be a smart investment IMO to start building men's soccer programs in the SEC.
Its like a company spending billions on R&D in the hopes that it will one day give them a profitable ROI. I believe soccer will do that. In the US, the South has some of the best soccer talent. My roommate was damn good in Mississippi but had to play at Clemson (started 4 years and their final four year) because the SEC didn't have shite.

The SEC needs men's soccer. There is great talent down here and would gain rapid popularity, at least more than lacrosse
frick title 9

My son attends Point University and will be playing on their lacrosse team this year. Auburn has agreed to come and play to help give some recognition to Point's first year program.

Soccer would make much more sense than any of the men's sports that have been mentioned simply because it is much more established at the high school level, at least from my view in Texas. While it is not played in the lower classifications, the larger schools all field soccer teams. I'd guess that 75% of texas high school students attend a school the fields a varsity soccer team. Sure couldn't say that about wrestling or lacrosse.

Wrestling before lacrosse. The south has some great hot beds for wrestling, but many kids do not go on to wrestle in college because it means going North or to a small school.
UT-Chattanooga has put out a respectable program by mainly recruiting Southeastern kids. Heck, Chattanooga alone has some top national high school programs in Bradley, Baylor, McCallie, and Soddy Daisy. Add in Florida and Georgia, you got some talent that could produce at college level, but miss out many times because of no SEC wrestling.
I would love to see wrestling back in the SEC. Missouri had a helluva program.
