This jewel is from one of their message boards. The author laments about last night's loss at the hands of Alabama:

quote:

Why Should I Care?

1. Besides Aaron Morris, our entire first team offense was in the game in the 4th quarter and couldn't punch it in against Alabama's 3's after having first and goal from the 2.

2. Trent Richardson and several other first teamers left the game when I did (7 minutes left in the 3rd quarter). Our first team defense played until the final Alabama drive of the game. Alabama's 2's and 3's in a quarter and a half outgained Ole Miss's one's (who played pretty much the entire game) by almost a 2-1 margin.

3. There were more Alabama fans in the stadium than Ole Miss fans for the entire 4th quarter. The 21,000 or so Alabama fans were louder that Ole Miss fans have been the entire season. According to Kellum, the Alabama fans in our north endzone were causing communication problems with our offense on the goal line stand series.

4. We have an 18 year old kid playing both ways for Ole Miss. They had to give him an IV at halftime. This kid was playing high school ball this time last year. He is starting (on both sides of the ball) in front of 12 people that are older and have more experience than him.

5. Nick Saban apologized to Houston Nutt after the game.

Friends, neighbors, countrymen.....if this doesn't tell the story of where we are as a program then nothing will. We are the worst program in the SEC. We have probably the worst team in the SEC statistically in the last 10-20 years. We have gotten progressively worse the last 4 years. We will not win another game this season. After the next 3 games our team will fold like a cheap tent against Kentucky and LA Tech. I'm gonna predict that the attendance against LA Tech will probably resemble the attendance against Northwestern State in 2007. I know I won't be there.

Ole Miss Football is dead......it died over a year ago.....and apparently nobody gives a damn......why should I?

Oh! And apparently the Ole Miss people, in their infinite wisdom, decided to honor the military before the game by selecting a serviceman who was an Alabama fan. Here's the reaction to that:

quote:

Whoever is in charge of the "military tribute" needs to be FIRED NOW!

If we are incapable of finding a veteran that is ATLEAST a fan of Ole Miss can we atleast not let them conduct an Alabama pep rally on our field?!?!? FREAKING unbelievable! Show Boone, Jones and Thompson the door. By the way my brother is a military veteran and an Ole Miss fan and all he could do was shake his head.

Thankfully for them 1999 USCe has that covered.

I did notice that after Trent's long TD run, 80% of the people left in the stands were Bama fans, but the stadium was still half full.

I'm pretty sure Alabama nearly had as many fans there as Ole Miss. I guess the rest of the Rebels were in the Grove.

Don't they remember the back to back Cotton bowls?

Can't believe the Black Bear fans are so quick to pull the trigger on a coach. Isn't that what got them in this situation to start with?

It's time to put the toe tag on Ole Miss and ship them off to CUSA/MAC or whatever hybrid they just put together. They haven't been relevant since the 80's and even then I use the term "relevant" loosely. It seems to be a failure of the President/AD/Fanbase to prioritize building the infrastructure that supports a winning program.

The sad state of Ole Miss

Here is a true story...

So I go down to Biloxi to the Hard Rock to see Darius Rucker in concert.
Anyhow...on the big screen behind him, for one of his songs, local teams in the area are brought up one at a time... each bringing an appropriate crowd response.

Southern Miss got a louded applause than did Ole Piss and Moo St.
The Saints had a pretty loud fan base there.
But to the State of Mississippi's embarrassment, LSU fans rocked that mother fricker!!!

Southern Miss is in the Gulf Coast region. I lived in Hattiesburg for a brief time. Certainly more USM fans than anything in the Pine Belt.

If true, that is hilarious. And Saban had the nerve to recommend Nutt as his replacement at LSU. Gee thanks, Nick.

I think it is. I was told this by several people last night.

I personally love seeing Ole Miss return to their home as SEC doormat

Their fans are like A&M's. They think their program and school are 100X more relevant than they actually are.

In Saban's defense, Nutt's stock was still somewhat high at the time he left for the Dolphins.

At best for Ole Miss it sounded on TV like it was a neutral site game. There were A LOT of Alabama fans there.
