Just one more UK fan to outnumber the UofL fans here.

I will be in Louisville later this month for the Government Cheese Reunion show. Rebel may be there as well.

Sadly, this thread is the most gratifying thing to happen to a Boise State fan since almost beating Nevada last season.

I wouldn't want to be an UGA fan if this happens.

I doubt we'd see any UGA fans if they lose to BSU.

Try running your spread against players that are faster and have about 50lbs on you. Moore would be IR after 3 sec games

I joined TD after losing to UCF, I'm sure I'll stick around.

??? Not many teams like playing Boise, because we win big games.

Or because you still want to get paid like a cream puff team. LINK

Nebraska called. Nebraska tried. In the past year, NU tried to put together a series with BSU; two-for-one, home-and-home, one-way trip to Lincoln. Whatever. It ended up fizzling out. Why? Because, according to NU Assistant Athletic Director Jeff Jamrog, Boise wanted a minimum $1 million to play in Lincoln.

Here's the thing. I read your board and think that way too many SEC fans have a superiority complex.

There was a thread going on about how the Boise State could not handle the schedule that teams in the SEC have. I agree. Right now, it would be VERY difficult to win the SEC. It's difficult for ANY team to win the SEC. Nobody argues that. Nobody argues that the SEC is a very good conference.

However, if Boise State was in the SEC, they would have better recruiting because they would have more exposure (the Mountain West will only make Boise's exposure worse. They have a ridiculous TV contract), better facilities (due to higher yearly revenue), and they really don't need a better coach because they have one of the best in the country. People say that once coach Pete is gone, Boise State will go down. Well, they said the same thing when Dan Hawkins left for Colorado and Coach Pete went undefeated and beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

So, perhaps Boise's first 3-4 seasons, they would be 8-4, but assuming the upgrade in Facilities and the exposure to recruits in that area, Boise would do fairly well.

I'm always surprised when the only thing people can hold onto is that they're in the SEC. The guy who was fueling the fire the other day in the Georgia vs. Boise St. argument was a Kentucky fan. Seriously? You're going to argue Boise st. vs. Kentucky? Yeah, maybe if we're playing basketball. But Boise St. > Kentucky in football. No doubt about it. Maybe your conference can beat the Mountain West/WAC, but Kentucky can't. Also, remember Wyoming @ Tennessee - 2008? The two worst teams in their conferences and Wyoming won?

Georgia beat Boise in 2005. 6 seasons ago. Let it go, people! I'm excited to go to the Boise St. vs. Georgia game (my wife is from Atlanta). Of course I hope we win, but if we don't, I will be a huge UGA fan and hope they win the NC game. If we win, I still hope UGA wins the SEC. After all is said and done, UGA is a good team and I hope they go 13-1 this year. Va. Tech didn't help us much last year when they lost to James Madison (their AD is an idiot for scheduling a game 5 days after their season opener).

I don't think we have a complex it all. Objectively speaking, we ARE superior. You don't have to like it, but you'll probably respect it anyway.

As for BSU and how they would do in the SEC, it will never, ever happen so i don't see why we are having the discussion. But since the topic is already up for debate, I think that the only benefit Boise St would receive would be monetary gain from our tv contracts.

Recruiting wouldn't get any better. Seriously, who the frick really wants to go to school in Idaho? Not a bunch of blue chips from the South, that's for damn sure. Being an Arkansas fan, I can tell you that even we are too far away from dense southern populations to really enjoy the benefits of fertile SEC recruiting grounds.

And don't get me wrong - I think Boise is a cool town. I enjoyed going to games there, the nightlife is decent, and the scenery isn't bad at all. I always make sure that my band plays there whenever we tour out west. But still, the only recruits you're going to land are either native idahoans or low-ranked prospects that require a great deal of developments from the likes of Peterson.

Also, I think that BSU is a fine team in terms of doing more with less, but you're kidding yourself if you think that y'all could come to the SEC and make any noise at all for a few decades. And even then, it would only happen if the surrounding celestial entities aligned just right.

I'd bet money that a Vandy or a Kentucky could take Coach Peterson and do everything that BSU has done and more. As much as I like BSU for what they are, I am not going to be impressed until I see them fighting for a title week in and week out against teams that are at least close to being ranked.

Fair question : how many ranked teams do y'all play each season on average?
