You can be excited all you want. I just don't understand tricking yourself year after year by irrationally getting excited based on empty performances.

But again, you are welcome to do what you want.

re: What would Orgeron have to doPosted on 9/5/17 at 2:12 am to AshLSU

A good coach surrounds himself with good coordinators and dictates to them how he wants the game played. It is not up to him to determine every facet of the game for his team. That is the point of coordinators, so if he were to go all the way, anyone who says he is a horrible coach with good coordinators is just being salty. It would still be a skin on his wall.

talent wise from top to bottom LSU should finish 11-1 with a close loss to Alabama. They are more talented then everyone else on there schedule. You can definitely argue Auburn also, but other than those two teams there's a big gap in talent IMO

Early Bama - LSU prediction threadPosted on 9/5/17 at 12:55 am

Bama / SEC fans - what do you think? Does LSU have a chance to beat you guys this year? How much of a chance do you give the tigers?

Surely you agree that this is not the same Les Miles led -attack the opposition's strength - LSU team. Matt Canada and Dave Aranda look like the real deal. Coach O just lets them run their game and leaves the mic of his headset folded back most of the game, and that is a welcome sign for Tiger fans.

Although I believe Alabama will still be better than LSU, let's be honest, Alabama won't score 23 points against LSU's defense. I think it'll be more of a 13-6 ball game in bama's favor, at this point..

Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior - they're all world class athletes.

It will be a very special year here. We solved the one problem we had - Les Miles.

re: Jury is back out on LSU.Postedonline on 9/10/17 at 4:11 pm to Roaad

Aside from where BYU will finish, LSU did a lot of things that is a positive CHANGE from the last regime.

That much is 100% clear.

At no point did Canada or Oeaux make a claim that we would field a mobile spread style offense or some 35-40 pass attempt style. The play calling with the personnel we have and the play calling with what the D gives us has been our biggest NEGATIVE for years. That much, thus far, has changed.

We still have some processes to clean up for sure, but we are trending right IMO. Regardless of the opponent. We 100% have the talent to win every single game on our schedule.

Why shouldn't we think we win at least 9

Two teams on our schedule have as much talent as us.

Auburn and Alabama and we get one of those at home. There is no reason we shouldn't win out until we play Bama

So let's get this straight (LSUvMSU)Posted on 9/15/17 at 5:15 pm

When LSU wins tomorrow night, national media and State fans will claim "we should've won" and we "have more talent" etc etc etc as an excuse to why they lost.

If (which is about 0.000001%) State wins, national media will be riding states cock because they beat LSU.

BUT WAIT. This gets better. According to the SEC rant and national media, LSU isn't even a contender and LSU sucks.

With the being said, when LSU wins they will get no respect in polls and state sucks like normal. If state wins, they move inside top 15, are a legit national contender, fitz will be a heisman candidate and the MooU bandwagon will start.

Do I have this right?

I think it's past " thinking they have a chance" and into " already put it in the win column ". This board is convinced the sun has set on LSU .

The beginning of a new era.Posted on 9/4/17 at 1:43 am

Let me first start by saying I don't put much into fate but there is something to be said about "coincidences" and sports that make you wonder sometimes if the two don't intertwine. Most here myself included believe 1/9 to be the last time LSU was seen as an elite powerhouse. Don't get me wrong we are still top tier just not elite since that day. Everyone knows what happened in the national championship game being embarrassed and not crossing the 50 yard line etc.

So ...was thinking after watching the game last night. We wouldn't be playing here if it wasn't for a hurricane that moved us here from Houston. A hurricane named Harvey. Harvey the ex-name of our new beloved Mike the tiger. This presented us a situation to go put to rest the ghosts of that game and start new memories one in which we don't allow our opponent to cross the 50 yard line.

Now I'm not saying that this team will go on to win a national championship but with all the young talent and the direction this program is headed...our beloved Harvey now Mike may be the start of a new era for LSU, one where we take back our elite status.

I have a couple good threads bookmarked, there were some heated delusional conversations

"Wait I'm confused. Do auburn fans think Kevin Steele is good?" This was a great thread in comparison to Aranda. Germantowns thread history on here is good for lulz and there is always rmnldr

Is Canada ushering in the next offensive innovation?Posted on 9/3/17 at 9:58 pm

Forward pass, triple option, west coast offense, spread, tempo. All innovations that went viral and changed the game. Canada has found yet another angle.

Confuse the eyes and mind. The constant motions and shifts causes mental delays that create the space needed to rip off gains. The spread was the great equalizer from a talent standpoint because it created space. You didn't have to outmuscle people. Canada's scheme takes it one step further. Create the mental hesitation and create space.

Can we give props to O for delivering on his promise?Posted on 9/3/17 at 10:10 am

He said after Ole Miss he learned that you couldn't micro-manage and you had to let your staff do their jobs.

Last night he let both coordinators run their game plan with very little interference, if any.

Talk about refreshing.

Amazing the lack of respect in the pollsPosted on 9/10/17 at 1:52 pm

Yes, if LSU wins their games the sports media's view won't matter one bit, but it's still irritating just like when they try to pick our president. Look forward to LSU smacking the competition and embarrassing these idiots.

Blows my mind that they think they're going to be a NC contender type team every offseason

I know, that's what I mean. The vast majority predicted 10-11 wins this season. They're smoking some good stuff apparently.

Well, to be honest, I honestly thought Steele was in over his head as a coordinator. I figured he was a great recruiter and position coach, but not yet ready to be a full blown coordinator.

Glad he's succeeding, wish it was somewhere other than Auburn ;p

It was a fair question going into last year. He didn't show us too much while at LSU but he had a very good season at Auburn last year.

It was a fair question. He was demoted after 2007 by Saban. Left for Clemson after 2008. Eventually canned there for the Orange Bowl debacle.

He has been very good at Auburn to my surprise.
