After all games are complete, the standings are as follows:

SEC: LSU (0 losses), Bama (1 loss – LSU), SCe (1 loss – LSU (CC game)), Georgia (1 loss SCe), all 4 are ranked in the top 5 in all polls (or whatever they do nowadays).

Damn! AU lost to UGA, LSU, Bama, and USCe.

Serious question? When's the last time that happened?

I tweeked the scenario a bit to make it a little more realistic.

All wins were convincing, losses were by 7 or less points.

That would pretty much be unpossible since some of the games would have been played against each other, i.e. you have both Bama and South Carolina losing to LSU and Georgia losing to South Carolina. You can't have both a convincing victory and a loss of 7 points or less in the same games.

Which is BS. 4 best teams deserve the spots.

I say UGA over bama is because UGA/SC is in mid-september

Bama brand power + REC won't allow that to happen.

I honestly don't see Bama being left out there. They got into an NC game in basically the same deal in 2011. No reason to believe it would be different in the forseeable future.

It's a committee, so...

Ohio State gets in because they only lost to Michigan. Michigan gets in because they must be great; they beat Ohio State by 28. Baylor only lost to Oklahoma, and OU was pre-season number one, so Baylor is obviously great; they get in. Notre Dame gets in because, well, they're Notre Dame, and those two losses to service academies were flukes.

I have seen similar logic in the past, unfortunately.
