The only reason this game was close IMO:

Let me preface this by saying UGA is a good team, but I think their defense is highly overrated.

Their lineman have very little stamina. They are decent when fresh though.

They have no fast OLBs to stop the run. Jones has speed, but is pretty much a nonfactor against the run and is strictly a pass rusher.

Their CBs are way too slow to be lockdown. Shawn Williams will be a decent reserve in the NFL, but Rambo is just lost out there in coverage.

That being said, the reason this game was so close is because DOUG NUSSMEIER IS IN LOVE WITH THE PASS. I know Bama had a lot of rushing yards, but the reason they didn't move the ball much in the 1st half is because they passed the damn ball too much.

I think Bama can beat the Irish, but they'll have to play better than they did today. The Irish defense is better than UGA's and faster too. Which is weird to say about a team from the north. I do see Cooper beating ND deep, but Motta is a lot better in coverage than UGA's safeties.

The question mark in the NC game is if Golson and the ND offense can do ANYTHING against Bama.

The fact that UGA's Offense can't sustain enough drives in the 2nd Half to give their defense a breather was the issue.

Georgia needs a better S&C coach. To me that's been one of their biggest weaknesses for a few years now.

this is true for the LSU and A&M games as well. McCarron shouldn't throw more than 15 passes, ever.

I wouldn't be shocked if Saban looks for a new OC that isn't cheating on his wife with shotgun running plays.

UGA has a great S&C team right now, but they only had a few months before the season to work on these guys. This year they will have a full offseason.

We don't have a lot of guys to rotate in and out on the defensive line because we have very little depth. That and the offense frequently going 3 and out played a big part in the defense getting gassed.

True, UGA's playcalling is just fricktarded at times. The coaching and development is great on offense, but the gameday playcalling is certainly questionable.

And what I'm saying is this would've been exacerbated if Bama had stuck to their roots and ran lacy down yalls throat in the first half.

all of what you said is true, and also applies equally to the LSU game we nearly blew. A&M was a bit different becasue we were playing from so far behind, passing was the only thing that let us catch up, but even in that game we blew the chance to win by not running 4 times from the 6. All in all, i would say nuss gets an A for the year, as our offense actually was really good, but a few questionable games sort of mar that a little. I expect he will get better, as this is really his first time ever making all the play calls (sark did that in WA).

That . . . and Bama's special teams were horrible tonight.

Blocked FG for a TD, ran out of time while faking a FG, fumbled a kickoff return (but got it back) AND gave up a fake punt that led to a TD.

This has been an issue for some time.

That was simply the depth issue at UGA. Remember UGA even with a big freshman class only has 69 true scholarship players on the eam. The offense scoring quickly and then going three and out hurt the D, but anyone not giving equal props to both teams that played this game, just don't understand football.

saban needs to next year take some of his bonus hes going to get for winning another NC and go hire the best ST coach in the world, whoever that is. Our ST miscues have plagued us for years.

shite, that was their problem against us too. I was kinda surprised how they were gashing us at will, but would then throw a pass to kill a drive.

I definitely am impressed by UGA, but at the same time I think yall's defense is just not that talented.

Jarvis Jones disappears big time for games at a time. He is talented, but if he keeps doing what he's doing he will be vernon Gholston.

Ogletree will be a beast in the league. No doubt.

Rambo and Williams may be 3rd stringers in the NFL, but they are just too damn slow.

Commings and Swann are just a bit too slow for my liking at corner too.

this is where I think ND has a shot. Their corners in Keivarae russell and bennett jackson did a commendable job against marqise lee and Woods. They also did well against OU. They are more athletic on the Dline than UGA as well.

The punt return Td was a gimme. Without that, it wasn't really that close

Very true. They could've blown us right out of our own stadium if they kept running when they were up 14-3.
