Would I be off with this list? These seem like people Fulmer would shift towards

- Tee Martin
- Les Miles
- Brent Venables
- Dave Clawson? (they had a pretty quick ending)
- Cutcliffe round 2

There's literally hundreds of washed up coordinators he could choose from.

This would support the recent hints that the pool will be quite large.

The obvious answer is it's Payton. All this has been an elaborate power grab.

The ultimate frick you. They fire him, he stages a coup to take the AD position and then rehires himself as head coach.

I would bet money Tee Martin will be on the next staff in some fashion. Apparently, Phil was pretty pissed with Currie not even calling him

Howard Schnellenberger did this when he was hired as Asst. AD for football at FAU.

"At age 64 he was named director of football operations for Florida Atlantic University... and by the time then-FAU President, Anthony Catanese, asked him to find a coach in 1999, Schnellenberger selected himself" - Wikipedia

I vaguely remember him saying when he gave himself the job that "I have determined that the best coach for FAU is... me".

I immediately thought of that when I heard Phulmer did the AD coup.

Is it too on the nose to recommend Brutus, Judas and maybe Benedict Arnold?

Make a power move and then hire yourself as your own subordinate. Its like something Dwight Schrute would do.

Nope.

Peyton sided with Haslam and Currie trying to sneak in there boy Schianno, without caring how it hurt UT, in exchange for Haslam promising to help the Mannings get an NFL franchise. What's next for Peyton? How do Vol's fans feel about their beloved Peyton betraying UT for the sake of his own greedy self interests?

Possible side effect maneuver: Washington State President likes Currie. Leach is supposed to have some say in choosing their new AD. I suspect Currie and Leach made a "scratch my back snd I'll scratch yours pact" in LA yesterday. Currie becomes WSU AD, Leach gets fat new contract.
