That's why you play the game. Look at Bamas road to the final 4 last year

It’s important to teams on the bubble or to teams who are not in the field prior to it starting. That’s it.

Exactly. Maybe if Bruce had done a better job during the season, they would have a better seed. "Coaching" that team to a 4 seed in conference is pitiful.

Auburn is really good, but a 4 seed is where you belong. Had you lost to MSU or Florida, you would probably be a 5 seed, or maybe even a 6 (like South Carolina, for many of the same reasons).

Pretty much every metric besides Q1 wins disagrees with you.

Vegas has us borderline #1 high #2 in terms of odds. All the computers like Auburn.

That said, I don't really care about being a 4, I care about being the 3rd 4 and having to go across the country with two tough outs before playing the consensus best team in basketball.

But even taking AU-bias out, UCONN is the consensus #1 and gets to deal with 3 conference tourney champs and arguably the hottest two teams in basketball off the 1 line in Auburn and Iowa State? How does that make sense?

Alabama football fans and their silly basketball takes

The team picked to finish 6th preseason with one media selection on the preseason all-SEC teams?

Losses to 14-18 Stanford, 13-19 Oregon State, and 15-18 USC.

Strength of schedule. You avoided playing the top teams in the SEC twice, outside of Alabama. You feasted on the bottom half of the SEC. Meanwhile your non-conference schedule was laughable, and you still lost your only big NC game (Baylor), plus one to a cream puff in App St.

Even your SEC tournament run featured only one game against a top team in South Carolina. Florida lost a starter in the first minutes of the championship game.

Auburn is really good, but a 4 seed is where you belong. Had you lost to MSU or Florida, you would probably be a 5 seed, or maybe even a 6 (like South Carolina, for many of the same reasons).

Same thing I've been saying. They sure don't like to hear the truth.

I don't like Auburn's team but they are hot right now and could make a run. They would've made it to the final four easier in any other bracket IMO.

I’m ok with it.

Whoever wins has to win 6 games.

Arizona went 5-2 vs. tournament teams in their OOC games.
Auburn went 0-1 vs. tournament teams in their OOC games.

Auburn SOS propped up by SEC. Arizona's SOS is dragged down by the P12.

It's as simple as that. I'm not saying Arizona is better than Auburn. I'm saying they're seeded correctly based on their body of work

Late Buuuuuump.

Maybe aim a bit lower and try to win one to start with.

Listening to a North Carolina call in show last night the SEC is not highly regarded AT ALL in college hoops. I think the committee feels the same and the SEC sure as shite didn't help themselves vomiting all over their feet in the tourney.

The committee has gotten lazy by putting no weight on conference championship weekend and it needs to be addressed.

They have said this for years. Which is why I think the sec needs to move the conference tournament up a day.
