God you're a cliche.

What's your point.

The OP is bragging about beating Notre Dame as a #1 when Bama was a favorite in that very game?

Bragging about beating LSU as a #1 when he knows they went .500 against that team?

My point is that he -- and you -- are cliches. You can't just allow a good stat to stand when your self-esteem depends on trying to denigrate, dissect, and trivialize it in every possible way when you'd be pissed off if someone did it to your team were the situation reversed. Get over it, people. Saban beat a #1 LSU. It matters not a whit that he lost to LSU as well. That doesn't magically mean he didn't win. His record against #1 teams include both wins and losses, so it's not like that aspect is being ignored.

Fair, but it includes more wins than losses. Seeing Paterno's record against number one teams also includes 4 wins, but 8 losses. Having the most wins and only 2 losses is impressive. No ifs ands or buts.

This, and if another SEC coach had this stat, the fans would be all over it.

Look at the names of the other coaches who have accomplished this. Some are legendary.

All of them except Saban and Dennis Erickson are Hall of Fame coaches. Criteria is 3 years after retirement, so neither are eligible yet.

These coaches have a total of 19 NCAA national championships between them and one has 2 NFL superbowl wins.
