didn't get over it for MONTHS?! i just don't get that. losses happen. Utah was a real ball club. they proved that, they wanted it.. hell, i'm glad they won it if you wanna know the truth. i think it helped to galvanize the team we had last year (even this year and next)...

don't get me wrong. we brought some weaksauce up there and it was thoroughly embarrassing. but, i honestly only look back at that fondly.

i was SO damn happy we had been to an SECCG and a BCS bowl game that i didn't even know what to do. i KNEW the future was good for my team.

All this talk is making me want to rewatch that game.

I'm off to Hulu.

Yes but when your team gets controlled by a team of what is considered a "lesser conference" and doesn't get on TV nearly as much as you and have to sit on it for the whole off season it can get pretty bothersome (ie UConn for SC)

Freakin' Pizza Bowl was more than bothersome. Freeze my arse off in a rundown stadium in the middle of the projects -- my team doesn't even show up -- and they run out of pizza and hot chocolate by halftime. And when the Auburn fan next to me says, "Dang, I didn't know all sucked that bad," all I can do is shiver, nod, and agree.

Went to the Outback Bowl the year before. Learned my lesson and didn't bother with that far down of a bowl game (when we could've been chosen as high as the Peach or something)

Its a shame because so many Gamecock fans did go down to AL only to see that crap. My professor, who is a tutor for a few of the SC teams, said because of the cold we practiced indoors.. INDOORS! against a team that played their last game in the snow!!!

at least you can tell how frustrated Spurrier is about it.

Anyone mentioned the Citadel yet?

Is that going back too far for this audience?

It looks like guru vs pupil from the staff meet this year, could be interesting.

ETA: I felt bad for Mizzou in hoops back in '94, I was embarrassed Nolan didn't send in the towel boys.

Damn, you think losing to LSU by any margin would be comparable to ULM, Northern Illinois, Central Florida, or La. Tech? Hardly.

In the SEC, some days you can't get a break and you get drummed. Other days you do the drumming. But any loss at ALL from the teams I mentioned is gonna sting...and we've lost to them all.

That was a SEC loss, and Barker was out.

Are you trying to make the point that LSU was horrible pre-Saban?

If so, yeah, just about everyone agrees with you.

2008 vs. Troy

Even though we won the game i was so embarrassed to be wearing an LSU shirt that weekend. Troy, from mighty Sun Belt Conference, completely mauls us in the 1st half and i nearly shed tears at the lack of effort and sheer stupidity from the "LSU" team that was on our sideline

Even after that comeback i was pretty pissed about it and just went to sleep thinking "Man, the country is still laughing at us"

Dinardo had 3 good years here and won 3 bowl games. The program wasn't in as bad a shape as some would have you believe. If only he hadn't hired Lou Tepper.

2005 USCw- You know it's bad when the guys calling the game mention if USC kept scoring at the pace they were at the time they would have had over 250 points. It got to the point where I was happy if we "stopped them" meaning less than 20 yds on any play. 10 yds never seemed so short against them and so long when we had the ball.

But a few weeks ago I got to celebrate that win. If Reggie Bush wasn't playing I think we would have easily dominated them.
