We used to say the same thing about the west. We will again.

Indeed.

After all the west wins lately, its still only now just tied isn't it?

I think TN, UGA, and Mizzou have all about an equal chance of winning, and all three have at least one of those teams at home.

What year was it that UT went toe to toe with the University of South Alabama?

By toe-to-toe, you mean up 31-7 when UT took the foot off the gas and let USA get within a touchdown? That was 2013. As a reference point, it was one year after Auburn's impressive overtime victory over Louisiana Monroe.

I agree, Out of the three teams UGA has the best talent but the toughest road.

TN the second most talent and the second hardest road.

Missouri 3 most talent but an easy road.

That all equals a very even battle IMO.

It is crazy though because USC and UF are wildcards and I think 1 of the two will be in the conversation much later into the season than many of us think.

Just can't decide which one.

It is going to be a really fun year in the EAST.

My prediction is 8 wins and the music city bowl.

I'm going to say 8-9 wins (unless the dreaded injury bug takes up residence) and the Music City Bowl seems like a good call. It would be like a home game and it should help the Vols build momentum for the next season.

Still, you have to think one of the Florida bowls would love to snatch up a hot Vols team. After a few years spent wandering in the desert the Vols fans would likely travel fairly well. You put up very good attendance numbers for the Gator Bowl.

As far as depth my biggest concern for the Vols is the offensive line. They were shaky last year and while Dobbs has some real talent, if he takes a beating the whole season then Tennessee could really be in trouble down the home stretch.

That having been said, if the O-line has the sort of turn around that the Hog's defense had last year, which is possible, then the Vols are very much in the mix for the East. You'd have to get by a solid Mizzou team and see if Georgia's tough schedule bites them in the behind.

Tennessee will lose five games and three of those will be in the SEC East. Tennessee won't even win against Florida.
