Building a college football team thru recruiting and player development is over. It's all about money now. Players will do anything and go anywhere for the money. It's the way of the world. Not unfair or wrong - but different. The days of amateur athletics are over forever - and so are the great old guard coaches who built teams with blood, sweat, tears, and brotherhood. The modern coach must be a financial negotiator and fund raiser first and an on-field coach second. It is what it is - not good or bad. Just sad.

Saban didn’t build teams with any of those things. He built them by giving kids a shite ton of money under the table and then locking them in by bullshitting them about the “process” when they couldn’t transfer. There’s a reason his decline coincided with NIL and open transfer rules, let’s not pretend that he was some saint who built his program on morals and hard work.
The reality of the situation is that he was an all time great bullshite artist who’s going to be remembered fondly because he was a winner and a larger than life figure in his sport

He just went to playoffs and lost to NC in OT when they could have won if someone picks up back on 4th and 2. No low snap and flair to RB was wide open on last play. He beat UGA in SEC Championship. My word you people are dumb as hell.
