I see all this talk about how Les doesn't know how to have a passing game, won't throw the ball, etc. Did LSU fans just block those seasons out of memory (just a few short years ago)just so they can shite on Miles? Had 2 1k recievers in the same year, it was a very balanced offense, problem was the defense those years.

The problem with the offense is Harris hasn't panned out like yall hoped. Every damn one of yall thought he was gonna be a home run, he would improve and be deadly with LF and a better defense. Lose 1 game (to a very good program-on par with LSU) this year, the first, and over react freak out like the season is now over, all due to unrealistic expectations of a championship or bust season and an over inflated opinion of the talent level on the team.

The Ark fan nailed it in his thread about LSU fans being entitled but not have the history to act that way.

I'm not necessarily saying that it isn't time for Les to go but damn let the season play out a little bit more. Maybe Harris will play better and the offense will be opened up. But this over reaction is silly. It is funNY to watch the gnashing of tooths and the melts. So carry on.

It was only one season. The two most explosive years under les were crowton and Cameron's first years at LSU. Did they randomly just implode?

We remember that one year

Les did sling it in 06 and 07 though with QBs signed by a former coach and developed by that former coaches hire. Kind of like Mett was coached at two other stops before showing up at LSU

Les has not signed and developed a QB out of HS that actually played that was not absolutely loathed by the fanbase by the time they were finished at LSU. Lee, Jefferson, Jennings, Harris... I feel bad for them.

Think about this:
Since 07 (9 seasons) when Jimbo's Flynn left we have had one season (2013) where our QB play wasn't the ongoing joke of college football.

08: Lee (made pic 6 history): I think UGA's MLB was even our leading receiver one game, he went for like 100 and 2 TDs. He literally was
09: Jefferson/Lee show: QB play was a problem but surprisingly Jeffersons best year
10: Jefferson/Lee show: 0 TD passes from week 1 until Bama in November, true story. QB play was awful
11: Forced to play backup QB due to suspension and has competent offense. Gets his guy back, we all know how this story ends
12: went 10+ quarters straight of SEC play without a TD, basically halfway through our 3rd conference game to get in the endzone (w OBJ/Landry/Hill)
13 great QB play. Doubt we have the two highest rookie catch totals in NFL history as upper classmen on the same team again for a while though.
14 Jennings fiasco
15 Harris struggles
16 nothing has changed

Not true at all. All LSU fans hoped he would be good, better, improved, quality. But it was by no stretch a consensus among LSU fans that the passing game and Harris would be a "home run" this year.

It's not "those seasons" rather "that" season. Mett's first year was very mediocre, though I will give you that his final year was very good. Also things like this are easy to say when it's not your team... "hey remember your offense was good 3 years ago, so can't complain about anything." But when it is your team 3 years can feel like a long time.

Since 2000 LSU has one of the best resumes of any team in the entire nation. That is nearly two decades, so it just depends on how you define history I guess, but typically 15 years or so is a pretty long time in most people's mind.

Not having the history to act that way? We were at top 15 program all time going into 2000, now we vary from 9 to 12 depending on the publication.

AP ranks by decade
30s: top 10
40s: top 20
50s: top 25
60s: top 10
70s: top 20
80s: top 20
90s: top 40 (dark ages)

We were in the top 25 every decade besides the 90s, the vast majority of them in the mid teens with a couple in the top 10

Arkansas fan just wants to believe we are Arkansas without the 2000s run. Well we're not, and that run did happened,
Does UF not have the right to expect to be successful? They don't have history until the 90s

It was one season, 2013, after basically the entire 2012 defense went into the NFL.

That offense had Mettenberger, Beckham, Landry, Boone, Dural, Wright, Hill, Magee, Blue, Hilliard, Collins, Turnee, Hawkins, Alexander, and Gordon.

The offense was loaded beyond belief. The plays that are being ran in 2016 are the same plays run then, the only difference is that the talent in 2013 could make up for it. They would constantly make plays and somehow extend drives. Odell Beckham Jr and Jarvis Landry kept defenses in check while Jeremy Hill ran all over them.

There's no reason why that team shouldn't have gone undefeated with that talent.

Some good replys. Still, the season is only one game played.

You are right about a possible overreaction. It is possible we play well the rest of the season.

You are wrong about not having the history to expect to compete for Championships.
Les has been trending downward the last 4 seasons and isn't off to a hot start this year.

You see it happen everywhere, legacies trying to hold on for too long. UGA made a move, good for them I hope it works out.

Bottom line is we are a top 3 program all time in one of the most storied Conferences in college football.
ESPN#2
CFN#3
AP #3
CFBDW #2
tiptop25 #3
^ take your pick

I'm sure a poster will find some obscure ranking that we will be 4 or 5 in, I'm fine with that that's still in great company.

If any of the top 6 programs in this league are satisfied with not Competing for hardware something is wrong.
All UA, LSU, AU, UF, UGA, UT coaches get on the hot seat without being a serious threat for the division title for more than a few years.

Guz's seat is getting warm 3 seasons
removed from an NC game
Richt was a perennial SECCG participant for a decade and a half.
UF won't settle
UT won't stop until they find their man
LSU is no different

It's hilarious that all these Arky and Ole Miss fans are loving this chance to try and drag us down so they can be propped up by association.
Not trying to be a Dick it's just the truth. Just like Bama could say to any other big 6 program and all we could do is downvote and spew some ignorant bullshite (which I have done with Bama fans on this board)

IT'd be really hard not to have a good passing offense when you can throw it to Odell and Landry.

You want Les to stay so bad.

A bunch of hypocrites on this board.

Be satisfied with medicrity, you say.

Whatever.

He took one class and basically taught himself his last year

Also I bet Harris would be better if last 2 years were spent with Richt

I don't know why LSU fans can't just acknowledge that B Harris is trash. I promise they do not want him to drop back and throw it 30 times a game. You think the offense is bad now lol. Let this kid get out of LSU and see if someone else can be trusted at qb. When you have a garbage qb paired with the best player in college football at rb, it only makes sense that the rb carry 55-65 percent of the load. I mean it's not like LSU aren't running PA plays to hedge against the run defense. Harris has displayed poor timing and accuracy on multiple occasions.

LSU has been a blue blood in the 2000's, no question. Going back more than 16 years to determine the state of a football program is pointless.

They have every reason to expect to compete among the top teams in the country right now.

I love how bad Bama and Arkansas fans want LSU to keep Les. Mett had a very rocky first year. The second year was great because we had Trai turner, La'el Collins, Jerald Hawkins, Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, Jeremy Hill and Mett on the same squad. Kind of hard not to be good with you literally have 4 all pro talents on O. Maybe 5 if Hill returns to his rookie form this year.

We're just one or two playmakers like Odell Beckham Jr away from having a pretty sweet passing game to match up with our running game.
