From that same link, the previous longest winning streak (not necessarily starting the year) was 23 by 2008 LSU. Theirs came at the end of the year, which to me is much more impressive.
Title appears to be correct, though I think it's a minor point right now. Ags need to keep on winning.

Saw the majority of those games in the streak. We proceeded to have the "welcome to the SEC moment"…fricking Kent State in the regionals in Gary, IN. We should had hosted.

Purdue deserved that regional but whatever.
