You know, I've often said -- well, just this once, but it counts -- that Missouri fans are sagacious and insightful sons-of-bitches. You have earned my respect this day.

Backhanded compliments are the best.

Nah, it was a profane term of endearment (strictly platonic, of course.) You know, the whole guy thing. The backhand compliment was the "well, just this once" part.

I wonder how many people understood every word you said. Know your target audience. Admittedly, I have not heard the term sagacious, but I could piece it together.

Arky went to SECCG in '95, and was ranked as high as 3rd in 2011.
Ole Miss tied for SEC West Title in '03 and was a national contender in 50's and 60's.
Miss. State has been to Atlanta and came close in '00.
South Carolina ditto and has been an SEC East contender for years
Mizzou went to Atlanta last year
Vandy has won a few SEC Titles

What's absolutely insane for me to think about is that with as ridiculously young as UGA was on defense in 03, and with as bland as our offense was, and as atrocious as our OL was (47 sacks)...if Eli doesn't trip UGA could've played for in the sugar bowl that year. We'd have gotten OM instead of LSU in Atlanta and I feel pretty confident we'd have beat them. Crazy to think about.

Sadly, we haven't. We dominated both precursor conferences, but we were declining by the time SEC formed. Our closest was 1935 where our only conference loss was 7-2 to LSU. Interestingly, that LSU team had the first Heisman winner Jay Berwanger at HB.

Good lord. I completely ignored this statement, hoping that a lack of contradiction would lead people to believe it even if it wasn't true. They would tell their children, and their children would tell their children, and so on. Within a few generations, the myth that Vanderbilt won multiple SEC titles would disseminate like a real-world version of "Idiocracy," and within a couple centuries, it would be so entrenched that Snopes itself couldn't change peoples' minds.

You just undid all my hard work. Thanks.
