But Saban is Nos. 1 through 10 on the list of Alabama power brokers.

If you don't think Paul Finebaum is a good writer, then you haven't read much of what he's written.
You don't have to agree with anything the guy says. But he's a good writer.

I used to read the idiot back in the 80s when he wrote for the B'ham newspapers.
He was a useless hack then - the redneck Howard Cosell (without the charm and good looks) - always trying to stir up a "controversy."
He's even worse now - back then he didn't have Saban's butt to kiss 24/7.

No you don't. I'll be GAWD-damned.

Texas has always been its own region in my mind.
Anyone who has ever taken the Sunset Limited from New Orleans to Los Angeles can vouch that the 16 hours of Texas you see out the window looks NOTHING like the fricking south.

Ugh, a train ride through Texas? I-10 is bad enough and at least I can speed. Still better than going through Oklahoma though.

It's a long ride for sure, I'd recommend the sleeper cars. There is little to no scenery unless you count the fence between the US and Mexico (I don't.)

The only time I ever saw him show a ton of emotion was when he beat us last year.
He was giddy.
He was giddy.

The only thing worse than seeing Saban as a guest commentator lately was...
Seeing Urban Meyer doing the same gig.
What else is expected from these shark-like creatures with the lifeless eyes?
Now, once Les Miles get's his shot, he'll show the world some SEC personality.

PF as a great writer? Only in the minds of bama fans, as I have never ever heard him described this way. Since saban has been at bama, he's a pro bama whore, and now that he's on ESPN, he will become even more of a one as ESPN will be pimping saban/bama all yr long.

I thought maybe Finebaum had gotten over his mancrush on Saban. Sounds like he's as madly in love as ever.
