Top 10 classes on signing day

ETA: Didn't realize you could plug in recruits and see how they would add, so my 375 number would be WAY off by that tool. That being said, I don't understand how the two players would only add 5 points if the other top !0 players add almost 30 each.

A&M is sitting at 321.38, based on those signed yesterday and a hard commit from unsigned #6 Evan Stone.

If we add #5 Harold Perkins and #9 Shemar Stewart (both 5* and crystal balled to sign with A&M), each should add 25-28 points to that (if I understand the calculations). That would push us to something like 375.

That is an insane number when you consider the difference between the #1 and #10 all time is less than 15 points.

Do other programs still have some fish to reel in that will move them up significantly?

How do you even know how much a player adds? I don’t follow recruiting much. I understand they give a star rating and then a number up to 100 for each player. How do you know what a player adds to the the team total?

247 has a complex formula where the top recruit adds 100% of their value, and then that scales down as you go down the list. The exact % I'm not sure of though. But if you have the #3 overall guy and he's your highest level recruit, you get max points from him. The second guy might be #5, and you'll get almost all of his points, and so forth.

So the #10 guy is worth more, points wise, as an individual to a team where he's the highest recruit than a team that has #1, #7 and #9 already.

Going off the Class Calculator function.

No idea how they do it, but just looking at what each of the ones signed yesterday added.

There’s an algorithm, but I’m not sure how it works. Easiest thing to do is plug the players into the team total calculator tool on their website.

According to that calculator, they’d have 329.03 total - if you add the two players mentioned in the OP.

Any idea how adding those two only add about 8 points together, when the other top 10 players in the class add almost 30 each? When you add them, it shows them contributing almost 30 points each, but I assume every other recruit goes down by some amount.

Not about to go through one-by-one to compare, though. I've already spent more time on this than I should. Have to hand out Christmas bonuses this morning. I take great pride in handing out the Jelly of the Month cards myself to each employee.

Because the more elite players you add, the more it devalues lower ranked players in your class.

Enjoy it this year because by this time next year boosters providing incentives to sign with a team will get you busted.

Some of it has to do with their position ranking, some of it has to do with how many players you have ranked above them already committed (which causes a trickle down effect), etc. I don’t fully understand the algorithm.

Sounds like there are diminishing values the more players you sign. Probably a recognition that if you sign 30 players the chances of them all contributing or even staying are less.

Are you sure you are calculating correctly?

Coming in a 50 points higher than the current all time high seems odd based on your other information included.

Between Harris, Perkins, Stewart, & Mathews it'll be very close to Bama's 327.91.

Harris is the most likely. He bumps it to 325.14.

From there here is how the rest affect it.
Stewart Only: 328.51
Mathews Only: 327.51
Perkins Only: 328.69
For shits & giggles - all 3: 333.53
