As far as I know there were several incidents with rival schools and drunk students. I believe one was killed and another cut up pretty bad. I think the school just decided it would be easier to go to the costume version.

We should bring it back. Put a nice lil pool that mimics a swamp in one of the corner of the endzones and give him the Mike the Tiger treatment. Throw him some steaks with our rivals logo seared onto it, to get the crowd riled up!
