The Freeze / Mullen regimes were incredibly toxic for the state of Mississippi.

The constant shite-talking, beat-writer investigations, and obvious “cheating while pretending to be above it all” nearly took all the fun out of the best rivalry in college football.
It was great to see Freeze anxiously pacing the visitor’s sideline at the Vaught a few weeks ago, and nothing warms my heart more than seeing Muffin disappearing into his own a-hole this year.
I wish them both nothing but sustained failure and disappointment for the rest of their days.
Both of them are trash humans.

What "major" cheating did Mullen do at Miss State? Just run of the mill mess like at Florida? The only big thing I remember which the media didn't jump on as much as I thought they would was him keeping that 5 star player that was recorded on video pounding that female. He wouldn't have been able to do that at UF.

Major? He was very involved in trying to buy Cam Newton’s services. I’m also pretty sure he was granted immunity for a few of his indiscretions in exchange for giving the NCAA information about Ole Miss. Hell, for a while there, I think State was holding the NCAA’s hand during their Ole Miss investigation.

Any articles accusing Mullen himself with the Cam Newton stuff and not just how some claim it made it to the administration. Mullen should have just set up the 200K if he wanted Cam Newton that much.

Not likely. You’ve averaged 28 points a game your last 5 games and States defense is better than all of those teams except A&M, which us and A&M are about equal in total defense.

fair enough. The point is Ole Miss and MSU beat writers should be nameless, faceless chaps reporting news, not whatever the hell Yancy and Rose Bowl have been for the past 7-8 years.
I’m just loving the low-drama atmosphere. The coaches are friends. The players are chill. Completely different atmosphere.

Shocking how the two programs have changed since that era. It’s fun to see both of us playing good football and I really hope Leach and Kiffin stick around so that continues. The attention they bring through their antics is fun too.

You mean the Mullen regime was extremely toxic for Mississippi. The biggest cheating moment State was also involved in as well and in fact was the highest bidder if memory serves me correctly.

State has a very dedicated recruiting network for instate kids. They dig their teeth in to 3-5 every year. They make sure they get them. They just don't have the ability to go outside of their footprint very much. MS/AL/LA is the majority of their roster. That isn't Mullen. That is what is in place at State. You can see that in their class this year.

People talk about Freeze but Matt Luke was worse. He hated Mississippi State and his players played dirty.
I will always believe he put a bounty on Fitz that year they broke his leg.
Freeze was a cheat and there is no way you can convince me those hookers weren't for recruits. I can't stand a man that hides behind his religion and does that kind of stuff but he at least his players didn't play dirty like Luke's.
It has been refreshing having two coaches that aren't like that. I know the game will be hard fought, but I don't see either of these coaches pulling that crap.
As far as the cheating goes, NIL monies have made that not necessary.
