He isn't mature enough right now to carry the burden of being an NFL quarterback, and certainly not ready to have the franchise QB thrown at his feet. Sure losing all that 1st round money hurts, but if he's actually going to be a success this is the best road. He'll have an experienced Tom Brady to learn from, and *hopefully* grow up and become a leader.

Arky posters thoughts? You frickers would be the most likely to have insight here.

Agreed Duke.

Then he wouldn't ever be able to bear the burden of being a starting QB in the NFL.

I agree with this. It will only be a good thing if he can humble himself and take advantage of the time to get better. However, he has a huge ego that he struggles to suppress. Time will tell for all the QB's mentioned.

Time tends to mellow such youthful hubris.

You know it is possible that when everything is done with the NFL and players union that they may have a rookie salary cap. None of these guys can sign till the new agreement is made.

The Arky butt-hurt over Mallet is funny.

"WHAT?!?!?! He's not the first QB picked?!?!?"

I remember so many Arkansas assholes spewing the certainty of his coronation in the NFL draft.

Then he turns out to be an afterthought. Too funny.
