Agree. Does a Robert E Lee statue need to come down? Yes. Does a building named after Jefferson Davis need to change? Sure. But digging up very specific details about a person who was not directly connected to the confederacy is just too much.

Most of these people who are viewed as heroes ended up swearing an oath to the United States and went back to the south to help re-build it to what it is today.

LSU got whipped so thoroughly and so repeatedly they backed out of a contract with A&M.

Just mocking how ridiculous these requests are. Take down a statue of X because he got into a bar fight with a black guy 50 years ago when he was 21. He’s racist!!

False. But it says a lot that Aggy's biggest achievement is beating the worst teams in LSU history (six straight losing seasons from 1989-1994)

OP

Our fight song was written by a Marine while standing guard on the front lines.

Texas stole their song from a blackface minstrel show. Just like they stole other "traditions".

Now idgaf what longhorns sing, but there is no comparing the origins of the songs.

Yep. Nothing wrong with Dixie. It needs to be brought back. Beautiful song and a part of all our Southern heritage.

Aggy’s fight song is set to the tune of Goodbye, My Coney Island Baby.

The Eyes of Texas was written in 1903 by a UT student based on the UT President ending his speeches with “The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You.” It wasn’t stolen from anyone, other than the tune (see: Goodbye, My Coney Island Baby).

And we’ve beaten them 76 times, not 75.

Now frick off.

they will kneel and like it.

they gonna pay reparations too.

nothing but a bunch of crooked money grabbing lawyers who would put their own mom out on the street.

People like you are the reason this is happening. You give in to the bullying and blackmail on two occasions. Why would they stop there when what the cancel culture really wants is to destroy any positive viewpoints of western civilization? The Confederate statue removals are tests done to see how much self-loathing and white guilt is out there. We've shown the cancel culture that it's pervasive, so it won't end. They'll come for every building, statue and monument that doesn't meet the social justice purity test.
