Wrong. The treaty had not been ratified by the time news of the battle reached GB. If the British had won NOLA, they would have had control of the mouth of the Mississippi. "Uh, we changed our minds. We will not ratify this shitty treaty."

Ironically the US actually had some surprising success in single Naval battles against the British fleet, but land battles the US was getting its arse kicked for the most part up until SC native Jackson whipped their arse in NO.

Do you know why the US won the Navy Battles ?
Bc, the American Sailors had graduates in the review booth.

Yeah man, I heard about this one battle where a US and British ship were sinking at the same time, and initially it looked like both ships had sunk at the same time, but under review the British ship had sunk 1st, thus the US could declare victory.

So, the "Treat of Ghent" has already been signed and the game is meaningless?
Posted on 1/7/12 at 12:11 am to Jayre
Dear OP,
I'm sure you thought this would be a great post when the thought entered your mind. However, while your analogy may be somewhat clever and historically accurate, it is crap.
Thank You,
The Internet

Well, if we have to be GB, as I've pointed out the treaty will only be ratified if we lose the Battle of New Orleans. Making it meaningless. If we win, we rip up the treaty and party on Bourbon Street.

Meh. Not the board for this discussion.
