Especially against UGA. I have never seen a player that viciously and purposely tried to to be taken out play after play as Aaron Murray was that night with the exception of Lynn Swann by George Atkinson in the 70's.

I guess u missed 2007 Auburn's OL trying to end Glenn Dorsey's career and rat nose coach snickering it off

Coaches: Spurrier and Fulmer (Alabama hate is strong against him and still burning).

Are we going to tell the Don Fuell story now?

Maybe UGA should have had an O-lineman that could block?

Two things.

Yeah, the AU bama trying to get each other in trouble has been going on forever. AUs 1957 probation was a result of two bama assistant coaches and a private investigator to try and get AU in trouble when Don Fuel (highly recruited qb from Hueytown) picked AU instead of bama.

As for Fairley, he did cross the line in the UGA game, but UGA asked for it. UGA came out with cheap shots intentionally from the very first play of the game on the opening kickoff when they were called for a personal foul after the play was over. Very first play. UGA wanted a dirty game and they got it.

About 10 years ago, Sports Illustrated polled every state and one of the questions they asked was "Who is the sports-related enemy of your state?". Steve Spurrier swept the Southeast even though he was with the Redskins at the time.

Spurrier kicked the piss out of the entire SEC for a decade. Not surprising.

Cam is up there although I have come to like the guy. I wasn't a fan when he was at Auburn but I think he handles himself and his business in a professional way. I have become a fan.

The way they could stop Fairley's fun is to put an OL in the game with instructions to get a fight started, you do something dirty in a pileup and Fairley is going to retaliate, and get tossed. Along with the backup Olineman.

You must have missed where UGA tried that.

Cut blocks are ok as long as they are from a straight on angle. That way the guy getting blocked can at least see it coming. A cut from the side or back, or an engaged player, is cheap and dirty

You said villains in the SEC. Everybody but Auburn fans hated these two players

I loved Cam because of his sheer talent and greatness. Best SEC QB I've ever seen.

And I love that years later, SEC fans still are still being rustled by him

shouldn't be played by sissies who are afraid to get chopped down

do you even know what a chop block is dumbass? it's when MORE THAN ONE PLAYER takes on a blocker; one engages high while the other chops him low.

it can ruin a kids career in a heartbeat. it can also ruin football. teams are not going to let other teams get away with that crap w/o retribution. before long there just won't be anybody left to play DL.

They blocked fine until the play was over.
