The two Landmass teams have been the biggest surprise to me. Prior to the season, I expected Ole Miss and State to finish between 5th-7th in the West.
I now expect them to finish 2nd-4th in the West depending on each team's respective games with A&M, and I expect both to finish ahead of Bama.
Ole Miss fans didn't seem particularly confident during the offseason, and I honestly thought State fans were delusional for thinking their team would be good based on how much they'd lost on both sides of the ball.
I honestly wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see State finish 2nd and Ole Miss right behind them in 3rd (or vice versa) based on what I've so far. I really wouldn't be shocked to see either of them win the West, but my purple and gold glasses are helping me pretend this won't happen.
