The biggest Miles issue is that he brought back Cameron this year

This year, in the normal cycles of head coaches, was the year Miles needed to make some bold internal moves, let Cameron go and bring in a coordinator who is more progressive and open minded. That doesn't mean he had to hire an Air Raid guy, but something along the lines of what Saban did in getting Kiffin or Bert with Enos. There are PLENTY of sharp pro-style type coordinators out there who would LOVE to come to LSU and work with all those weapons and work for Miles (just like Aranda on defense).
To this day I do not understand why Cameron was kept around. And, I truly believe if Miles brought in a well respected OC along with Aranda and to go with his recruiting abilities and general skills that he would win and be at LSU for a while.
Just a devastatingly stupid decision.

But Miles is a great man. Look at what he's done at LSU! Ignore the past 4 years, but look at what's he's done!

I completely agree, but I think Les is handcuffing the OCs, so I don't think it would have made much of a difference.

Maybe so - but you can still creatively work within the pretenses of Miles preferred system, not to mention develop QBs.

I don't know that a good OC would even come to coach under miles...miles won't allow the OC to implement his system

But LSU wasn't always a miserable stone age offense. Hire a 2016 version of Jimbo and I guarantee those results are different.
It's all water under the bridge now and he'll probably pay the price for it.

The OC doesn't matter. It hasn't mattered for the last 8 years

This! Why should we clean house when the right OC would have us back to Alabama's level.

Miles let Jimbo and Gary Crowton run systems that weren't toss dive, toss dive, 4 stop routes. He let Cameron throw the ball all over the yard in 2014.

Had CLM fired Cam, he would have had 5 OC's in 10 yrs. OC is not the problem. Consider that Jimbo left in disgust after his first yr as CLM's OC. Too, under those circumstances of last yr, with CLM apparently on his way out the door, short term or otherwise, who would have come to LSU knowing he may only have one yr?

Man, I remember when Cameron was hired by Miles and LSU fans were convinced that they'd destroy the SEC with an elite offense

he was building up his ego...the more popular he got the more he wants his offense
