Becuase if history repeats itself, which it often does, those teams will take turns being the best in the league, obviously they wont all be dominant at the same time.

It's not JUST about SEC titles. Those 6 have historically and traditionally are the best 6 teams in the conference. Bama and UT are the unquestioned top 2 and both in the top 10ish programs ever, with UGA/UF/LSU/AU all kinda right next to each other in that 10-17ish range.

SC has a history of losing, and losing bad. They hadn't done jack shite until the 21st century. The big 6 will always be the big 6, history doesn't get erased after a few years good or bad.

Alabama, Florida, LSU and Auburn all recognize UT and Georgia as Big 6. That should be good enough for you.

I agree with most of your post, but I wouldn't say the big 6 will "always" be the big 6. If you go back 50 years then Ole Miss would have been included, but Florida would not have been.

IMO, a formerly decent team could join the Big 6 with a dominant run of 5-10 years. But it takes longer than that to fall out of the Big 6. Maybe 10-20 years of being a doormat.

UT is the 2nd best all time SEC program behind alabama.

UGA is historically a better program than AU for sure, and possibly LSU. The only reason UF/LSU/AU make a case for being ahead of UGA all time is because of the last 9 years.

Would need 3 SEC Titles minimum.

And not have any good years in there at all. Tennessee was in the SECCG as recently as 2007. They would need to stay at Dooley levels for another 13 or 14 years

So, since there's 14 SEC teams now, all we have to do is win one SEC title and we'll be tied with Auburn with 7 to become part of the big 7. Seems easy enough. Challenge accepted.

Also, in all time winning%,
06. UA
09. UT
12. LSU
13. UGA
15. AU
16. UF
then a gap to A&M at 23.
Of course this includes ancient history and the perception can be overcome by winning conference a couple of times, winning a NC, etc.

Obviously being charter schools, they have had more opportunities to win the SEC.

SC doesn't have good history, everyone knows this, but most SC fans don't give a shite because we like to live in the present instead of worrying about a game that was played 100 years ago. Floating around as a Independent for 20 years before joining the SEC really set our program back because we came in with some of the worst facilities compared to the rest of the SEC.

I'll worry about the present while y'all fap to a game played in 1934.

Winning an SEC championship or two would be a good start. You might also want to have several undefeated seasons in a row to get your all time win percentage near ours.

5 Auburn 718–405–47/ .634

9 Mississippi 621–486–35/ .559

Here's the real question: if the big 6 is inaccurate, who should fall off and who should be added?

Please state actual facts and stats for your opinion.

You can add and subtract single digit numbers! Good job.

Yes, one more SEC championship will tie Ole Miss with Auburn. That is one part of being a big boy. Your win percentage will still be way below Auburn's and your general profile will still be lower.

Good luck though. Even with our extreme suckage this year I think we will get another SEC championship before Ole Miss.

I never said anyone would drop out. I said if we won an SEC championship we could slip in for a big 7. Not that we'll do it or that a big 6 or 7 means anything anyway.

Tennessee has been a dumpster fire recently, they have to be getting close to falling off.

Nope. They're nowhere close to falling off either.

Big 6 is an all-time ranking, not something decided year to year.

Easy. Because Tennessee has the second highest all-time total wins, winning percentage and number of SEC championships.

Here is Carolina in the most recent decade. Not exactly awesome. These guys have a couple good years, don't even win the SEC and think they're in a position to say who should be in the Big6. Laughable.

2011 11 2
2010 9 5
2009 7 6
2008 7 6
2007 6 6
2006 8 5
2005, Alabama had to vacate a win due to a textbook scandal, but opponents records are unchanged.
2005 7 5
2004 6 5
2003 5 7
2002 5 7

Yeah, and Cocky had a big win over Bama a few years back. Those would be your only two wins over a top 20 ranked SEC team in the past 3 years.

Let us know when you win a big game in December.

Until then, your Big 6 application is denied.

K thanks.
