But, the real story was terrible quarterback play. Yes, the conditions were bad, but quarterbacks Robby Ashford, T.J. Finley, and Holden Greiner were downright awful.

quote:

Hugh Freeze on his quarterbacks after Auburn A-Day "From this point, now until the end of fall camp, there's so much that needs to happen for somebody to solidify being 'the guy.' I think all have improved. I think all are still inconsistent"

QBs hit 5-of-12 passes for 60 yards

I'm not just saying this because it's Auburn and I'm supposed to have some major dislike for them...but Ashford last yera was truly one of the worst starting QBs for a big 6 program I've seen in a long, long time. HE presented absolutely zero threat in the passing game whatsoever. At all. HE was slippery and you can tell he's quick and has some elusiveness but that's the only thing he can do, and he didn't even really attempt to do it all that often.

How does he expect to get an assessment with only attempting 12 fricking passes?

Does he not think Auburn is ever going too attempt a forward pass in the rain?

Weather was horrid.

QB’s are not proven to be SEC caliber in good weather.

Hope it improves but Saturday was not going to show it.

did you not watch the game? It was cold and they were playing in a monsoon. I am quite sure they throw enough in practice to gauge where the situation is.

This quote from Freeze is pretty telling. The portal may save the season for Auburn.

Defense is better this year!!!

Stats from the same QBs last year:
quote:

• T.J. Finley: 11-of-19, 137 yards, TD (sacked twice)

• Robby Ashford, 12-of-16, 132 yards (sacked twice)

• Holden Geriner: 9-of-11, 71 yards, TD
