One time in my early 20s in Dallas, I had a gay friend invite me to the Round-Up saloon for the local gay softball league's end of season party.
I went, to support my buddy (they did some kind of performance, I can't recall).
I remember watching in awe as a scene much like this one played out. The gay cowboys line-dancing to a "Who Let The Dogs Out?" remix. I don't remember thinking it was "cool", although I did stand there in amazement that it was real.

Texas A&M would want to be the first school in the SEC to have "trans" women in women's swimming, not because of wanting to be "progressive", but because they all want to see men in women's bathing suits.
