They are better. If they didn't improve, head should've rolled.

And I'm not saying that it can't work. A few teams have managed it (Auburn twice in the last decade, notably). But it usually doesn't.

Damn, only giving up 400 yards to Lamar and Rice. They are really improved.

I know facts are something pigs struggle with.

Points are all that matter. Nobody ever won a game with total yardage.

Improving on last year isn't hard

But aTms defense is still subpar in many areas

Interesting time to make this thread.Your defense looked like shite last night against Rice. They were running all over you.

There is a difference in being improved, and being good

Their defense is not good

But is improved

Sure, but as 2012 showed with our offense that is good enough to win a lot of SEC games and compete for the West.

Our defense just needs to be something more than historically awful.

Not really, they had 240 yards rushing but needed almost 60 carries to do it. Additionally, about 65 of those yards were on four QB scrambles on designed pass plays.

So essentially, we gave up 180 yards or so on 51 designed runs which is only 3.5 YPC. We stopped them for three yards or less 21 times. By comparison, we gave up 6 YPC on designed runs to Rice in 2013.

Congratulations on catching USCe sleepwalking with a first time QB starter instead of having to face the 2-time defending NC in the first 3 games of your season while also scheduling the 107th best FBS offense and an FCS opponent in the first 3 weeks.

Yeah but you had a bunch of starters on D who were suspended for the Rice game last year.

That's a hell of a rationalization there

It's a rationalization your 3 game sampling truly deserved.

So..... LSU is cockriding USCe's problems now to minimize A&M?

Agressed.
