Because they won last year and there's less reason for them to want to travel again?

So they can match them and bama up in the Sugar Bowl and not fly across the country again.

I just hope the players are more excited it about than us fans cause I know the Mizzou group wants it bad.

No, because with Bama at 1 and FSU at 4, you've got a playoff game within driving distance of both fanbases.

Damn. You brought something up that I don't think the playoff system thought about: attendance. How in the hell are fans going to attend two bowl games in different cities? And for those who have conference championship games it'll be even harder. That may well create a attendance issues for the playoff system, especially since this isn't the 90s economy where money was falling off trees and damn near everyone had a surplus of cash even if it was just a small surplus.

Isn't the site of the championship game bid on similar to how it's done for the Super Bowl? Since it's done prior to the playoffs, what will happen when you have 2 teams from the same geographic region having to travel across the county for the final game? That will cost fans a pretty penny.

What if it goes to 8 instead of 4?... SECCG, Quarter-final game, Semi-final & CFB CG. That's a lotta time & coin to spend to watch your team, possibility of 4 extra games after the regular season.

Quarter-final games will have to be on the higher seeds campus or there'll be a lotta empty seats...

The excitement of the 2008-2009 SEC championship games feels like forever ago now.

We're the most spoiled fanbase in sports at the moment.

I remember how insanely pumped people were for every game back then. Now it's like, "Meh I'll go to the Auburn game and the national title game"

Kinda makes me mad.

Assuming we win Saturday I hope people can get jazzed up about the first round of the playoffs. Maybe the allure of New Orleans will get people jazzed.

It was brought up, nobody would listen though.

People who want like an 8 team playoff and stuff, it would absolutely kill attendance.

Nobody is going to pay big bucks to go to a conference title game, then 2 early round games, and then a championship game.

If they go to an 8 team playoff conference title games and first round playoff games would need to move on campus to keep them alive IMO.

How people can't get jacked up after the way last season ended makes no sense to me. Not to mention anyone who lived through the 90's and 2000's. I just don't get it.

It isn't like we win SEC Titles every year. It's a big damn deal.
