Since that team has been brought up here lately…

It was the most stressful season I can remember. It took its toll on LSU fans no doubt.

For purposes of reminiscence it is now one of my favorite seasons, maybe my favorite. Far from perfect, but that team played hard. It had some of the most memorable, dramatic games and moments ever Florida, AU, 3OTs x 2, etc... that's just LSU... it was bunkers every week all over the place. In terms of drama and unpredictability maybe the best season ever!

After a wild ride that team will forever be a National Champion. Miles a National Championship Coach. No one can take that away from them.

Hail to College Football’s National Champions of 2007!

As a side note: how ironic that some people criticize (envy disguised) that team. Wouldn't schools that have 40 or 80 years without a NC kill to have that Championship season, or a NC season of any kind for that matter.

A national championship with losses to Kentucky and Arkansas is worth celebrating. I’m still amazed.

It very much is. A National Champion every bit as much as the only team in SEC History to go 15-0.

Cheering for Pittsburgh who was a huge underdog (28 1/2 points) on the road to West Virginia to win was insane. I still remember Wannstedt on the sideline with crutches. When Pitt won that game I knew LSU was in the BCS Championship game.

If LSU wants to claim the 2019 LSU Tigers as the best national champs of all time it is only fair to claim the 2007 LSU Tigers as the worst national champs of all-time - or at LEAST the modern era.

Only 15-0 team in SEC History

Only 2 loss national champion in modern SEC History

Facts is facts

Now that we are on the subject of past championship games I just realized that Georgia Southern scored 2x more on Bama in one game than LSU did in 2. And that’s not counting the extra field goal.

Damn. Talk about embarrassing.

I don't care.. still have the trophy. And they are legit unlike some that other teams claim.

It was. Also Missouri had to lose that same night in the B12 Championship... and the SECCG was itself pretty dramatic and undecided till the final moments. Just crazy shite. Stressful at the time, so much fun to look back now.

All of those look like complete trophies without chips or pieces taken out of them to me.

I’m amazed at teams that pretend to be National Chanpions when they can’t even win their own division.

That team was walking wounded for long stretches but showed it was pretty good when healthy. Still far from GOAT status, but the best team that season and that is all that matters. An insane season overall. Again wouldn't most progams love to have a National Championship of any kind.

One of the strangest seasons I can remember. I think every team had at least 2 losses, except Kansas and Hawai’i

The team that gets crowned at the end of the season that wins the trophy that everyone wanted in fall camp is the champion.

Wouldn't UGA love to have a NC of any kind in the last 40 years.
