Yes, Sims is a pocket passer.

I don't get why all LSU fans think their secondary is head and shoulders above Bama's. I think Mathieu is the best DB in the country and a real playmaker and while the rest of LSU's secondary is exceptional, I wouldn't put them above what the Tide brings to the table. Honestly hard not to call the defenses a wash. Bama has better LB's and LSU's line seems to get more pressure but they play a slightly different style of defense so not really comparing apples to apples. If AJ plays as well as he has thus far and doesn't make mistakes, then Bama will be tough to beat at home but what really sets LSU apart and could easily be the key for them to win the game is the fact they can punt the ball deep and kickoff deep. Punting and kickoffs are the Achilles heel of this Bama team and while against most competition, it is overcome by superior talent everywhere else, in a game with an opponent as equally talented as the Tigers, it may be Bama's downfall.

So you obviously watched the first play of the game. One of the first 15 or so scripted plays based on film.

The two biggest homer fans on this website are named LSU and Bama. That's a fact.

However, that's directly related to the number of posters from each school that are here.

If this was a UF site then UF would have the most homers followed by Bama.

Samson an extremely rational post. Wow you aren't a homer. I've met one of my first on here.

My point is that they can throw for 900 yards against our secondary all day long. If they can't parley that into points on the scoreboard, then where does the embarrassment factor in?

Besides, how much of that passing yardage came on one play?

I could see if they had maybe racked up a couple more touchdowns than they did with their passing attack, but they didn't. They didn't. Then and only then did Brantley go out. I'll admit that Florida didn't have much of a chance after he went out, but face it. Brantley wasn't getting it done either.

Well, what they lack in numbers they make for in effort.

However, they would be third on the list.

for 2011

1a Bama
1b LSU
3 Arky
4 MSU
5-12 the rest

I just hope that aTmers are not as bad.

Cyde I can agree with your post. It was obvious they had to try and gamble with the big play to try and keep up.

65 of the 220 or so came from the first play of the game.

I know, and it was a shame that the one big play was the only one that paid off for them.

I wanted to see an epic ballgame. I certainly don't have any animosity toward Florida and I DAMN sure didn't want to see their starting quarterback hurt.

What?

Why would I be chapped? I expected the loss. The only thing that has bothered me one of your guys continually harping on how your most awesome D hurt our QB. It's like he's proud. I forget who it is and it really doesn't matter. There's all kinds of folks in the world.

You can disagree that you don't have a homer fanbase if you want. I won't buy it but feel free to disagree.

Any a-hole cheering over the Brantley injury is just the same as the a-hole UF fans cheering from the West upper deck of BDS when Prothro got hurt. frick those kind of people.

Ok, so if you take away the one big play and look at the rest of the passing yardage as downfield attack resulting in first downs and clock grinding, then would it be fair to say that the passing game -- outside of the one big play -- while respectable for the amount of time Brantley played, wasn't burning up the record books either?
