You have to answer why Alabama can't host anything Louisiana has hosted. Id say because no one in the country wants to visit that shite hole.

New Orleans =! all of Louisiana

I'm pretty sure most of the people on this board have been to Gulf Shores...AND willingly.

I love how shitbirds like you try to claim Louisiana hosted the Superbowl, wrestlemania (wtf), nba all star game when it was the city of new orleans. You are a coonass from Lafayette. Mobile is closer to New Orleans
than Lafayette and arguably has more in common. It would be like people in southern Virginia taking credit and state pride in something DC has, like the Smithsonian.
My family from Scott even go so far as to say New Orleans isn't real Louisiana.

This thread has backfired.

Alabama/Auburn fans have swarmed a thread about the state of Alabama on the SEC rant.

Was there another anticipated outcome I am unaware of?

Alabama has more unemployment and lower wages.

I don't know if that is true, got something to back that up?

But hey, if you want to be a waiter, bar tender, bouncer, stripper, host or hostess, or work in a hotel, then Louisiana is the place for you and you will certainly be able to gain employment in those fields since Louisiana' s number 1 industry is tourism. Oh, oh and don't forget the casinos. Everyone wants to be a blackjack dealer.

If you want the worst public school system in America, come to Louisiana.

An incredibly high violent crime rate?
One of the highest illiteracy rates?
A population that speaks a form of broken english?
A state that constantly losses land to the Gulf?
The highest car insurance rates in the south and second highest in the nation?
Some of the highest home owners insurance rates in the country and don't forget your flood insurance.

Then by all means come to Louisiana.

And the trade off is good food and lots of booze, or as the natives call "culture".

That's what I'm wondering...I haven't seen anyone from LA post anything worthwhile about the state outside of NO

Not really....I was dispatched to a residence where the complaint was that they had a crab boil the week before and invited the neighbors. The neighbor had a crab boil the next week but didn't return the invitation.. St. Martin Parish on a Fri. night.

To read all these comments about La. from Al. natives is just pure comedy. We drove from just outside Memphis on our way to Orlando a few years ago. We took Hwy 78 to Birmingham, I65 to Montgomery and then down through Dothan on our way to I10. I was so depressed by the time we got to Florida I felt ill. I mentioned this to my wife and she replied..."yea...what a depressing state".

I stopped going to Gulf Shores a lonnnnng time ago. We will drive a few extra hours to Destin just to avoid all Al.

Please carry-on though....this is quite entertaining for a former New Orleanian.

Yeah, you would never hear that in Monroe.

But according to the US government, if you live in Louisiana you are more than twice as likely than a resident of Alabama to live in a mobile home. Number 8 in the nation in fact.
