That's really not that hard as of right now. The SEC is a dumpster fire

Then who has better than a 19-12 record since 2011 other than Saban?

Y'all tried circa 1970. He even seriously considered going to the Dolphins.

.

He just got wrecked 3 games in a row.

Worst 3 loss stretch since 1966.

We can't even get a play in after a timeout.

I love the guy, but a change is needed.

I'll always love him for what he did.

How can you fault LSU for wanting to improve?

So the narrative is that because he is our most successful coach he has a lifetime contract?

Please.

Well said. Some schools around the country have very high expectations. You bring in top talent, compensate your staff near best in the industry, and you expect results, not 3 consecutive end-of-season collapses, with the cherry on top being absolutely blown out in three straight games by not just conference, but division foes.

Sorry, I like Miles, but his ship has sailed. He literally said after the Arkansas loss that he doesn't know. Sorry, TAF hasn't made him a multimillionaire to say, "I don't know" after being humiliated by a team with far less talent after you swore up and down there would be no "Bama hangover" and you'd have your team ready to play.

False. The OP specifically mentions Les Miles status as the greatest coach in program history as the reason it's unnerving. Thus bringing up 'running off' some failure of a coach holds no water. If we had ran off Bear you would have a point. If I was an FSU fan you would have a point.

I think he was basing it off the fact that y'all are generally known to be TPOS

i.e. tree poisoning, tea bagging, numerous violent acts from fans against their wives

You don't think three losses to LSU, Tennessee, and Auburn wouldn't cause the Apocalypse in Tuscaloosa?

Miles went from a god to garbage in 24 hours. Don't think that is going to go unnoticed by coaching candidates...

It's the same situation. HC's can't, nor should they, do it all. They need coaches. Joe Allegra doesn't want to pony up for better talent on offense, and was the sole cause of the loss on the defense.

Actually, you don't know what you're talking about. LSU has proven time and again it will pay its coaches well. We had for a while some of the highest paid coaches in the country. It's not Alleva's fault those coaches aren't keeping up their end of the bargain and producing on the field, but it is his responsibility to hold them accountable and make changes when they are necessary.

Stepping up the delusion these days eh?

Do we even need to start to discuss things Bama fans have done in the past regarding coaches, not winning enough, etc?

Holy mother of pot calling the kettle black Batman.

Miles and the Bear have very little in common. You had, at the time, what was recognized as the greatest coach in CFB history. It is widely known that Miles has won in spite of himself. He's mostly been a beneficiary of good DCs. His talent base, resources, and compensation imply that frequent occurrences of <= 9-win seasons are an unacceptable result, and we've witnessed a very identifiable decline since 2011.

We get where you are coming from. You know Miles will always "scare" yall because he will always bring a hard-nosed team that your team will generally get up for, so it's a fun, high-profile win that is on your schedule. For that reason, you would love to see him stick around so LSU can languish in its current purgatory for a few more years.

LSU fans would like to try something new.

Do you realize how foolish that is?

I'm not saying I would take either guy in a heartbeat, but I would say Freeze and Mullen are better than Miles. Using just total records from a time frame that intentionally favors Miles (using 2011) is incredibly myopic.

Not exactly. LSU is who most prognosticators thought: a 3-5 loss team. The problem for Les is that those 3 losses have come in blow-out fashion and his offense can't score on the 1 yard line with 4 tries, but rather implodes and moves backwards.

What coaching candidates will see is an AD who will pay well for a top notch coach and his staff, first class facilities, and near exclusive access to elite talent.

Seriously, the only 2 honest Bama posters in this thread. I've never seen a rally of opposing fans like this in my life for another team's coach.

Ole Miss will probably have an offense line opening if he wants to coach where he'll be appreciated.
