"They're"? Who are "they"? And why are "they" communists?

The fact you're arguing the point proves you're one of them.

I'd actually go the other direction and say that publicly-funded academic institutions should not be in the sports entertainment business, but that's just me.

I would go in a different direction to say that public universities have strayed from educating their populations to becoming quasi non profit (but quite profitable) industries focused on 2 primary sources of revenue.

a) entertainment - via sports
b) research - via government no bid contracts

That's quite a convincing argument, but could you elaborate. Who exactly are "they"? And what make "them" communists?

Quit trying your deconstructionist, anti-American approach with me. We know who you are.

Not really true. Universities have been in the research business pretty much forever. The no-bid contracts are a new thing and certainly are a problem, but that's really the only issue when it comes to research.

Asking questions is anti-American? How is that possible? American hero Glenn Beck says it's good to ask questions.

Quit trying to pander to us with your Glenn Beck references. He's from the Pacific Northwest and neither he nor you will find any favor here.

Who are the Blues?
The St. Louis Blues play in the NHL and at one time held the record for the longest run of making the playoffs, Something like 25 years in a row.

That is why you see so many people from Kansas vacationing on Missouri's lakes and rivers in the summer.

I have driven the length of Missouri a couple of times in the past few years. Before that, I had been to Branson and back and that was it.
Northern Arkansas and Southern Missouri are Gods country. I had to laugh after seeing someone from Louisiana ripping Missouri.

Rush Limbaugh is from Missouri.

Does that cut any favor with you?

If I'm reading this right, a WS baseball win cancels out an SEC football loss. Does not compute.

No, Kansas City plays in Missouri. Arrowhead is in MO, thankfully.

Much worse day to be a Missouri fan today unfortunately.

Mizzou loss still stings,

Cards on brink of Elimination

Rams doing their thing

Not sure how the blues have been over the past few, but if other events are any indication their team is tanking

Why do your big cities have to be sucking the teet of neighboring states? Come on... have some pride in your state and put a big city in the middle.

Not to mention you had to copy Georgia's shape... :smh:
