You're missing a key part of that trio. Gus Malzahn was the offensive coordinator.

You have fat Bert.

Gus was there for 1 year. The trio was collectively together for 3 years. You were in the B12 then so don't pretend like you know what was going on in the SEC

will be interesting to see if KMarsh is able to get closer to Dmac's level this year

He'll never be close to DMac's level.

No, but he's still the closest of the 3 from a physical standpoint. He's pretty much a CJ Spiller clone physically. He's just gotta learn the nuances of the position.

I wanted to ask some Arky fans about Korliss Marshall...

The LSU vs Arky game was on this evening so I re-watched it. And damn... Marshall looked really really explosive with great burst. I was more impressed with him than I was with Collins, who didnt do much vs LSU.

The announcer kept saying he was listed as a Safety on the roster, but played RB. So the kid must be a heck of a football player. Under rated recruit as well.

So how does he fit in yalls scheme this season?? Looks like he could be a great complementary RB for yall. And hes a complete RB, but is more of a change of pace guy when you throw him in there with Collins.

But the trio of McFadden, Jones, and Hillis is superior. 1 of the best RB cores ever to play in college football, considering all 3 were utilized on the field together. The 2000 Miami team had a lot of great RBs, but didnt actually see the field together like the Arky guys did.

Marshall was recruited as a safety and was at safety for all of camp and all of his freshman season. He's an absolute freak athlete but didn't crack the depth chart at safety.

He started returning kicks in the A&M game I believe and that's when his explosiveness first showed up. He had a few really stupid mistakes early on, like fielding a KO that would have gone out of bounds and then stepping out of bounds on the 1. But once he got the dumb freshman mistakes knocked out he really started to look awesome. They started giving him a few touches at RB here and there to test the waters and he clearly showed he was electric. I don't think Bert knew what he had with Marshall until he started at KR. He only really started playing RB in the Ole Miss game, which was the 10th game of the season. I can only assume he really was not impressive as a safety.

After the season he was moved permanently to RB. He had an incredible spring and was by far the best RB in the spring game. ( see here)
He's got the most speed we've had at the position since DMAC and Felix but he's far from a little scat back. He's built solid at over 200lbs and delivers a blow as evidenced by his first return against A&M when some poor kid bounced off of him. He's the whole package. The rantards will rantard because they don't know who he is but he's the most physically gifted player on our team and he was a goddamn 2 star from Osceola.

Nice

Yeah he only had a handful of carries vs LSU... but damn he was crazy explosive and that elite burst when he sees on opening. He can accelerate with the best of them from what I saw. He looks like Cadillac Williams from what Ive seen. Kinda bowlegged when running, crazy burst and explosiveness, and very strong and powerful and plays bigger than his weight.

The duo of Collins + Marshall could be a great combo.

So how do you see the carries being split??

I have no idea how the carries will be split but I think it will vary from game to game. We don't have a clear cut "starter". Bert's said they the 3 of them aren't 1, 2 and 3 on the depth chart but 1a, 1b and 1c. So one game may feature Collins as the main back and then the next game will be Marshall and then the next Williams. I think at the end of the year though Williams will have the most touches. Unless Collins has REALLY improved his power and tackle breaking, Williams is the most complete RB. But it's splitting hairs. They all bring something different and are all great.

The SEC is loaded at RB this year. Bama, LSU, Tamu, UGA, UF, Tenn, Mizzou, Auburn, and Arky all have multiple proven talents at RB. USC has Mike Davis, one of the best RBs in the nation.

Incorrect sir. Hillis was every bit as good but was only given a fraction of the carries that dmac n Felix were given. There are only so many plays in a game.

Hillis was here for 4 years and didn't get over 1,000 yards.

In his entire career. As in total yards. In 4 years.

It wasn't even a running back trio, it was a duo and Hillis played fullback. He had more receiving yards in his career than rushing yards. But you think he was "every bit as good" as DMAC and Felix? You crazy.

And as I already stated, Hillis didn't really get good until his breakout season with the Browns, then outsiders went back and noticed he played with DMAC and Felix. Then this whole idea of a running back trio got started, even though it never existed.
