They probably played too many power 5 teams on their way each of the other 6 times.
I was assured by the aggie fans on this thread that non-power 5 teams are too weak and ineffective, and the only reason Texas has ever been to Omaha is because the burnt orange media conspiracy gave Texas an easy draw all 38 years

Same reason for all of the big 3 sports.. they are historically irrelevant.
Baseball: 1 top 5 final ranking
Basketball: Only 4 top 25 final rankings (#9 best year)
Football: 4 top 5 final rankings (2 in last 60+ yrs)

It’s honestly mind boggling. They seem like they’ve been so much in my life and finding out their last win out there was 30 years ago is wild.
