I think A&M's offense will only get better, Sumlin has a good recruiting class and playmakers besides JFF will only make the team more dynamic.

I did. I'm just making sure y'all are paying attention. I honestly expect aTm to go 10-2 next year.

Sumlin has admitted to only having a few plays to call for JFF. The rest is just, oh go out there and run around til you find an open man or an open running lane. Worked against Bama and several other teams so he'll probably keep doing it next year til it bites him.

Air Force always seems to hold its own in non conference against strong teams that never see the triple option. Look at how they almost knocked off Tennessee, California, Michigan and Oklahoma in recent years.

But in conference play, Air Force never wins the Mountain West because the conference is so familiar with the triple option that they know how to gameplan for it.

Next season you'll be predicting that "In year 3, the SEC defenses will put a stop to Manziel and the Aggies."

Yawn.

What you should really be concerned about is what happens when A&M's defense is up to SEC standards.

Cause that shite's gonna happen.

In regard to Cam and Tebow.

Cam played 1 year, so defenses didn't get a 2nd crack at him.

Tebow
1st year: Mainly a running QB to convert short yardage plays. Chris Leak was the starter.

2nd year: Monster year, won Heisman. Team lost 4 games.

3rd year: Stats weren't as good as his 2nd year, but the rest of the team was better. Had Percy Harvin. Florida had a great defense. National champs.

Last year: Stats were even worse, offense played worse. Florida had a great defense. 1 lost kept the out of the title game.

So, Tebow's first year starting was his best year statistically. His last 2 years Florida was better because the players around him were better.

A+M has a offense SEC teams don't often see. They go at a speed that isn't easy to stimulate at practice. Most of the teams they played need a quarter or half to adjust to it. The better defensive teams played beter against them in the 2nd half. Florida gave up no points in the 2nd half, LSU gave up 7, Bama gave up 9. Next year the other SEC teams will have this year game to look back on and make adjustments.
You are assuming that A&M's offense won't be any better next year than it is in Sumlin's first year. That kind of runs against the prevailing wisdom that it takes at least a year for a coaching staff to fully install a new offensive system, and also discounts the fact that we're playing a QB in his first year of college action. So, you think the defenses are going to get better, but the offense is going to stay the same? Go ahead and tell yourself that if it helps you sleep at night.

If A+M's offense gets any better then will be scoring 50 points a game next year. Johnny Manziel broke the SEC total yardage record twice this year. There is no way A+M's offense is better next year. It will as good as this year's offense or worse.

We'll be lucky to get a first down next year. We'll regress that much. I doubt we win a game. Probably should disband the program. I wouldn't blame JFF for transferring.

A+M won't regress that much. But with the talent A+M will lose this year, 7-8 wins next year is my guess.

A&M's defense has really improved this year - the only glaring weakness being the secondary, but I have faith Coach Snyder will be addressing that.

The offense will actually be better next year due to several reasons;

The 2nd year of running the system is always better than the inaugural season. Manziel will be a much more polished pocket passer.

We have some stud running backs coming in next season that will greatly improve our rushing game (even though A&M leads the SEC in rushing this year). Strange, since this was supposed to be the "Air-Raid" offense.

If we can get RSJ and other stud receivers, it's going to get downright ugly in 2013.

It's the perfect storm of A&M going to the SEC, Sumlin taking over as head coach, and Johnny Manziel leading this team - success breeds success, and the Ags' have just begun I'm afraid.

interesting topic that cannot be answered before the final results of next season.

It will come down to who progresses faster, SEC defenses or A&M's offense. Who learns how to out scheme and out execute the other? Honestly I have no clue who I would give the edge to, both sides have incredible talents. Maybe its my maroon colored glasses, but I believe that A&M's running game will improve faster and will get a higher percentage of calls next year due to some dynamic talents in Williams, Williams, and Carson. The receiving corps might regress with the loss of key seniors, but the influx of recruits might minimize that regression. In the perfect Texas Aggie world, the three headed monster of a balanced running/passing/JFF'ing offense would be too dynamic and unpredictable for a solid SEC defense. But like I said, everything I just mentioned could be countered with a solid argument based of the talent of players and coaches in the SEC.

and fwiw, this topic will get beat to death during the off season.

Here is your answer

In fact, the Aggies don't even own a playbook. "It's something for someone to pick up and put on the Internet," Sumlin said of why not.

I am really concerned about next year. I heard that the SEC teams will no longer allow their JV squads to play us. They are going to use their Varsity teams only.

We better quit now.

First off, we don't know if Joeckel or Matthews, or both, will return.

Second, if we lose them, there are some studs in the pipeline, so the question isn't necessarily will it be as good, but will it be good enough?

We won't know until we see them play.
