shaw also outplayed jff

Connor Shaw is a good QB. But playing against the 3rd team in NFL preseason games is just that... 3rd team competition and there is a noticeable drop off from 1st team D to 2nd team D and again to 3rd team D.

It's amazing what a win over South Carolina can do for a programs confidence.

South Carolina win didn't have anything to do with it. Don't ask me why, but Aggies were arrogant as frick well before they beat South Carolina

Manziel had better stats than Shaw in every passing category except Int's thrown and was rated as a much better passer by NFL scouts.

still doesnt mean hes a better passer. he has a better arm, more mobility, had an easier offense to run, etc. a better qb, yes, not a better passer. jff missed all kinds of open receivers in college. i dont mean inaccurate, i mean he never saw em and just ran, or threw a jump ball to someone. shaw is far more developed as a passer than jff. the games where jff had to throw from the pocket most of the time (athletic LSU and uf defs) he sucked. bad. keep ohnny in the pocket and play man (if u can) and jff was neutralized. hes got a ways to go.

If the Aggies had stayed in the Big 12, they probably would not have Sumlin. It was the move to the SEC that had them decide to remove Sherman and get Sumlin. Things would be much different had they stayed.

I don't know why people expected SC to be great after losing the talent that they lost.

This is what I've been trying to fugure out as well. I saw no reason for USCe to be ranked in the top 10. I don't think they are as bad as they looked last Thursday, but having a green secondary against sumlin's offense is always going to lead to big trouble.

So shaw was a better QB in every way that can't be analysed objectively.

Problem with the "If you stayed in the Big 12..." logic is that if A&M stayed in the Big 12 many, many other things would be different for the program. The SEC move changed everything from revenues to recruiting so dramatically. People point to JFF or Sumlin but really it was that fundamental move that was the most important and lasting.

soooo.. your welcome?

While I don't disagree with the main point, it's hilarious how many fans have come out now, after the dominating win, when it's all safe and sound, to say this out loud, repetitively on all message boards.

Not until AFTER, Kenny dismantled SC.

Conveinent.

It's amazing what giving Auburn their worst beat down in history in Jordan Hare stadium can do for a program's confidence.

No A&M declared the intention to join the SEC in the offseason prior to Sherman's last season.
