Come on man.......

Walter Sharpe was a 4-star PF from Parker HS in Birmingham. He committed to State without even visiting Starkville (if I remember correctly). He was interviewed on Finebaum and continuly talked about how much he loved MSU and "Coach Stansfield". Kind of been a joke ever since.

What a novel concept, Terrance Cody was apparently not interested in this aspect of college.

Ugh. Walter Sharpe. That's a name I'll never forget. Coach Kirby used to take his car keys away from him because he would drive back to Birmingham on a daily basis to hang with his boys.

Ended up getting shot a few years later, if I remember correctly. Now he's playing ball in the Philippines.

The Gottfried-Stansbury era of the early 2000's was pretty fantastic. We competed for and cheated for the same players, played wild games, both fanbases packed the gyms to play eachother and the two of the genuinly hated eachother.

Just think about all the guys we fought over in Mississippi and Alabama

- Mo Williams
- Erwin Dudley
- Gerald Wallace
- Mo Williams
- Charles Rhodes
- Walter Sharpe
- Mario Austin

Those were good times.

So, next will be a reworking of Reed Arena to seat 45,000?

99 percent of college basketball fans couldn't even name the Aggies basketball coach, but we are supposed to believe he honestly signed a top 5 recruiting class.

Stansbury showing them boys how to be a playa...

You have 5*s walking down the floor, getting in fights with each other in stands, and losing to Rider to look forward to...

I am sure he has outbid a lot more coaches than just Pearl. If Pearl has to bid for players, that is even more reason to believe the Aggies are doing the same on a much bigger level. Pearl went to the sweet 16 every year at Tennessee except for maybe 1. What the frick has the Aggies no name coach ever done?

For one, he doesn't coach at a school that has gone to the NCAAs 0 times in the past 10 years.

But I do hate our coach. Still pissed we didn't bring Buzz back home.

Don't mean to interrupt the slap fight with facts but Kennedy was smart on this one, signed a marginal player last year, Avery Johnson's son, and that opened the door to the rest of the DFW area. They all played together either in school or on the summer circuit

Didn't see any facts listed in your far-fetched theory as to how we managed to get a top 5 - probably top 2 - class.

Highly doubt all these players were lining at the door to see where Avery Johnson's son went.

Actually Avery Johnson Jr has definitely played a big part, but it wasn't just him, Alex Robinson also helped with the DFW Area. Honestly, BK's coaching skills are definitely fair game, but he has been a pretty good recruiter. That being said, I can't blame anybody for thinking we got a bagman

They're all very close friends, and Avery Jr is a year older and kind of the ringleader. They call him the little general. lol

We were Elijah Thomas first offer, in 8thgrade. Also being over looked is former 5*/ ConfUSA FOTY Danuel House transfered to A&M.

Team should be better this year, and then significantly better next year.

Transfer Danuel House was a 5 star. Two 5 stars and 3 four stars all in the same year.

Now we will have to tear down Reed Arena and rebuild it to seat 30,000.
