Meh, what Texas does doesn't really matter as much to us anymore.

I mean hell, Charlie was already out recruiting us.

Who is the AD at aTm? He needs to fire Sumlin or be fired himself.

It's not just their football program, it's the mentality of their students and fanbase too.

They're soft, and their fans are soft, and they'll always be soft. That is, until they pony up and poach O from LSU.

This has occurred during one of the "high points" of aggie football.

Don't recall ever seeing those terms used together in the same sentence.

That program is completely devoid of any backbone whatsoever

You'd think this man's presence would help out with that...

While true, it's not an excuse. We've gotten our share of players out of Texas and they adapted to our culture, not vice versa.

I have a lot of qualms about the Coach O hire, but I don't worry about our mental toughness or physicality.

Yep. The blame doesn't go so much on high scools. Any college team's tougness, physicality, blocking & tackling fundamentals, etc. is a product its own culture, S&C program, how you coach and practice, etc.

Most games and championships are won by the teams that are the most physical and block & tackle the best -- no matter what style of offense is played. It's always been that way.

Earlier this season someone posted video clip(s) of Chavis running the same "gauntlet" drill at LSU and then at ATM.

The difference was so glaring it was laughable.

It starts wirh the school. Male cheerleaders, etc. A&M has been mediocre for a long time, it's not all on Sumlin.
