hum, an old Big 12 rivalry match up in one of the big 3 sports...interesting. Good thing we aren't play Kansas anymore. Our basketball has taken a nose dive after we hired this D-2 coach who will probably be fired after this year.

Smart will be a good hire, but it does not look like he has a lot to work with.

I think the new rules might actually hurt Smart. His defenses were always pretty physical, and it looks like you can't do much of that anymore.

As a long time VCU fan, I gotta tell you, I do not think he'll be successful there. THe man is incapable of making adjustments. He's pretty much like the les miles of basketball. He's also a pretty underwhelming recruiter, although I know the fact he was at a mid-major held him back in that regard. A lot of people don't realize he made the final four run with a lot of Anthony Grant's players.
Anyway, I'll be rooting for him, I just don't see him being able to build Texas in time for him to keep his job. They have the new AD as well, which who knows what the dynamic is there.
