GREAT move by Cuonzo. He could see the writing on the wall that he wasn't valued or secure at Tennessee despite his improvement each year capped off by a Sweet 16 run. Coaches who make Sweet 16's and recruit 5* players don't grow on trees, and Tennessee is about to learn that the hard way. at Tennessee. This is why SEC basketball can't have nice things.

Agreed. They won't be able to get a better coach right now

The writing on the wall: Him making a sweet 16, turning down another coaching offer, then not being offered an extension or a raise. It's not that hard to see who was wearing the pants in this deal

Duh. UT's hiring/firing/forcing out decisions over the past decade have just been one mistake after another.

Just because you were "wearing the pants" doesn't mean it was a smart move by UTk.

Didn't have a chance as I recall. He left for UT. Then Anderson left for Arky. Mizzou begins search. In that order.

It's shocking. IMHO, UT has the best or second-best overall facilities in the conference. It just goes to show you that great facilities will only get you so far if your AD doesn't make the right calls.

So you're either a bandwagon Tennessee fan or like 16 years old.

Anderson was hired on the 23rd of March and Martin on the 27th.

Do Tennessee fans not realize that just because you wanted him to leave doesn't mean it was a good thing?

Mizzou was chasing Matt Painter around for a while after Anderson left. The timing just wasn't right.

Seriously...we wanted lebo gone...we got worse.

Obviously Tennessee isn't on the same level of futility as us (prior to now) but let that be a warning.

Me too! He would have been a good fit at Mizzou
in the SEC.

Per those last two tweets, Cuonzo Martin is taking his 7-1 center Kingsley Okoroh to Cal. He committed to UT yesterday.
