Marrying certain cousin was accepted in Bible times. Abraham married his niece called Milcah in Gen 11:29, GOD ordered cousins to get married to each other in Numbers 36:1-11, cousins married in Joshua 15:16-17, Jacob married his two cousins Leah and Rebecca in Genesis 29:16-28. There are over 13 examples of cousin marriage in the Bible.

Welp, I can't pass this quote up, Tennessee patron.

Wonder who the two folks were that voted against it. Probably need to make sure someone keeps an eye on them.

The correct answer, some form or variation of the tort established " Grandfather Clause" hits a little differently here..

Think what you want. Mary was no older than 16 when Joseph married her and Joseph was considered an older widower who already had kids. God brought them together to be married to be the family of the Messiah. Take up your complaints with God.

Abraham married Sarah his half sister. They both had the same father but different mothers. It was also before the Mosiac Law was established and such marriages were forbidden.

You mean other states needed a law to know it wasn't right?

So if Tennessee does pass this bill, it will still be completely legal in 16 states and legal with restrictions in 6 others. That is crazy.

Honestly after a certain point I don't give a shite. If someone is like a 3rd or 4th cousin, idgaf. Not saying I'm gonna go out and do that, but caring who someone else bangs or loves is kinda weird. It used to be very common for cousins to marry not very long ago.
