Tennessee had 5 SEC championships from 1971-2000

LSU had a meager 2 in the same 3 decade period. Why do people think Tennessee can’t come back up if a program like LSU can?

This is the first pro-VOLS thread you’ve ever started

They can. I give it ten years and they get to ten wins. Just two coaches away.

Don’t you have a dick to suck?

So the vols need to hire saban. Good luck with that.

Bama riding that Tennessee dick now because they hate mean ole LSU? I've seen it all now.

Well maybe, just maybe... it’s because of the fact that Tennessee isn’t exactly in preeminent recruiting grounds. Not to mention their lack of commitment to keep up with standards set by others in the conference. Tennessee is a beautiful state, but their stadium is absolute shite.

I can see you haven’t been to their campus in 20 years

Well I never said their campus was bad, I said the stadium was. I was there about three months ago.

They’ve spent a lot of money on their stadium and other football facilities as well. You said they weren’t committed to keeping up with the SEC. that’s a very ignorant statement. Sorry you take offense to your own ignorance

You have always been my favorite closet Tenner fan.
I think they can do it Germy. He’s the best coach they have had since Freshwater.

Damn, just not enough people who give a shite about Tenner to even get this topic off the ground. I for one, think they can do it.

Well I’m basing my opinion off of what I saw in person. I didn’t look at the money spent.

I mean I was there, and that was my opinion based on what I saw. You can disagree with my opinion, but that doesn’t make it ignorant.

You seem confrontational/defensive.

They can.
You didn’t need to make any reference to LSU.
However, since you did, Tennessee has a more difficult road because it doesn’t have the natural recruiting base of LSU. In those years you referenced LSU lost many of its best native athletes to out of state programs. Also i think the Vols brand has been tarnished more than LSU’s. CFB is more visible today because of cable sports, media etc.
Still, any program can fall into the abyss without great coaching and leadership, even Alabama. Consider thst only two P5 programs have not a losing season since 2000: OU and LSU.
It takes one coach to make or break a program.

Sure it does

Tennessee is dependent on other schools to drop the ball in recruiting. By no means does that place a hard limit on the kind of talent they can get or any potential success for the program, but it's definitely going to be hard.
They're in the same boat as Clemson when it comes to recruiting challenges. So if Clemson can do it, so can UT.
