1. I don't think I'm an idiot but idiots rarely d
2. We aren't talking about making it a sixteen week schedule like the NFL
3. The difference in a 4 and 8 team playoff won't do a damn thing to the regular season, it will still be just as important as it is now. It's not like we are saying make it 68 teams like the basketball tournament
4. You specifically mention end of season rivalries. You really think that going from 4 to 8 playoff teams will cause Bama fans to stop loathing auburn? Make auburn stop caring about Bama? Suddenly Auburn fans won't mind UGA? UGA fans be all friendly with Florida? Tennessee fans don't care anymore about Florida and Bama?

Mizzou has a winning record vs Tennessee. Mizzou has also won more than 660+ games.

Take the Bama/Auburn game in 2013 for example. The one they won on the Kick 6. In an 8 game PO we both get in and there's a high likelihood we have to play each other again. If you don't think that ruins the first game by making it practically meaningless I don't know what to tell you. In 2013 it was so huge. Even though we lost I enjoyed the game immensely (until the very end anyway). It was obviously one of the great games of all time for the Barners. All that gets taken a way in a 8 game PO. I guarantee they don't want to play us again and I'm fine with winner take all in the first one. It might even be ruined already in a 4 team PO because we might have been in the top 4 after the CC's that year.
