Don't get me wrong -- I'm not giving it back. But for 6 innings UT played with so much more passion and desire. Will Neely pitched a phenomenal game. We were almost apologetic walking out towards the Vol fans (and UT had one of their better crowds at Hoover that I've seen.)

I know these posts can read rather lame and patronizing to the losing team, but regardless to UT last night.

UT deserved no better than what we got. Horrible pitch management resulted in the same thing as it did all season.

Was Serrano coaching for his job last night?

Bless his heart. I hope not, if he wanted to keep his job. I have no idea what was going through his mind with his pitchers and strategy in the 7th and 9th.

I think what you saw out of the pen last night is about the best of what they have. Very limited.

Leaving a one pitch pitcher against our top was stupid.

Walking to get to Kramer was debatable

That's just the ninth

It's baseball... The late inning decisions are always debatable... If Kramer hits that ball four feet to the right Senzel(sp?) turns it into an inning ending DP... The Vols just dont have quality arms on the back end.

That being said, congratulations on a big win and frick Tennessee.

Did LSU fans give Tennessee a standing ovation and then pat themselves on the back for it?

walking to get to Kramer was idiotic. Not only are you walking to get to our most clutch hitter, you also force your pitcher to throw strikes because there's nowhere to put him with the bases loaded. believe the DP was already set up as well (iirc there were runners on 1st and 3rd)

Probably not outwardly in Hoover.....we reserve those outward displays of affection mainly for in state schools, small schools, and home post season series.

Yea I about lost my shite when Duplantis didn't move to 2nd of the ball that got away from the catcher.....the minute you see Breaux scoot to 3rd there you take off from 1st.

Yes it was.

I have winning in lieu of idiocy. But I'll take it

Last night proved why baseball games should be 9 innings.

It's cliche, but, it's true. Those last three outs really are the hardest to get.

I tend to side with your line. With one out and a pitcher with control issues I don't think you give a pass

They looked like a top seed and we looked like a sub 500 team. Crazy turnaround.

No,but we stood and applauded the Hoover PD when they escorted the Florida fan out of the building after he turned the little boy with coke bottle glasses and his UT cap over in his wheelchair.

It was first and 3rd but i think he was already down 2-0 in the count to fraley. the walk set up forces everywhere including home. there are advantages and disadvantages but it's not the worst decision in the world to go ahead and walk him.

No we didn't. No excuse for not holding onto a 4-0 lead at the 7th inning stretch. The sad/hilarious thing about it all was that everyone knew it was gonna happen the whole time.
